Surprised this hasn't popped up on here earlier, unless I didn't user the search function correctly.
Looks like this story comes from 2 sources. An alleged CIA leak to a conspiracy researcher in the 90s and as the result of a FOIA request recently. Doesn't prove anything or provide evidence as to the who, how, and why of JFK's assassination but definitely adds a whole new layer to the mythology and brings more questions and possibilities.
Apparently, he was concerned about frequent sightings over the USSR that could be misinterpreted as American aggression and wanted to know whatever the CIA did about the phenomenon. He never got that chance....
Hoagland further claims that President John F. Kennedy was assassinated by an agency or agencies opposed to his stated policy[61] of inviting Nikita Khrushchev to create a joint U.S.–Soviet manned lunar effort.[60] He asserts that Federal agencies such as the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and NASA are linked to Freemasonry.

Well it would take longer than 10 days to plan the assassination so I doubt this would have had any effect other than confirming to the conspirators that they had made the right decision.

Really surprised to see that story on the front page of Drudge.
Makes me think it might be more tempering of the public for whats to come.

I was thinking the same thing. Lots of UFO "tidbits" being dropped in the MSM lately. Truth is, though, this stuff gets picked up by ATS and other alternate sites, but most Americans that I talk to have no interest in the matter. I link stuff like that on Facebook and no one even comments or shows interest. Bring up Charlie Sheen or Dancing With the Stars, though? Minimum 10 replies.

The general public has been programmed to think and act that way for a long time now. They've been taught to glorify false talent, mind numbing schlump, and pathetic "stars" for so long now that they don't know anything else.
Truth, facts, reality don't matter to the general public. Beiber, Gaga, American Idol, "Reality" shows and their favorite sports do.

The most frightening part of this for me is not the UFO connection but rather the comment from the CIA director that said, "As you must know, Lancer (JFK code name) has made some inquiries regarding our activities, which we cannot allow...Please submit your views no later than October. Your action to this matter is critical to the continuance of the group".
What the ....?
