New member, old lurker, looking for something in particular. Help?

Hi, I used to lurk ATS quite a bit back in the day, then stopped, and now I'm back again, but I'm having a hard time finding a specific thread (it was archived somewhere, if I remember correctly). So I joined, hoping someone would direct me to what I'm looking for.

I remember there being a large stir about this poster (whose nick I do not recall), who was claiming to be a higher entity (kind of), or to have access to secret knowledge and volunteered to answer questions. Again, this is all very vague in my head, but I remember him speaking about how the Earth's population was nearing some sort of a cycle, and it's final destination would be determined by how polarized it was (something about at least 50+% good or 90+% evil). I do recall some other minor details, but they're very disconnected. All I know is that it was said to have been a very well-executed troll, so much so that it almost wasn't. Does anybody know what I am trying to find?

Your search for truth is your own, but I feel compelled to warn you about that thread. Read the information there with a critical mind and a true heart... try and keep in mind what you are actually meaning to seek when reading through it, and think about where the information is truly taking you (I mean this in a concrete and practical way).

And, Abe7Fig, absolutely. By no means did you overstep the bounds, and thanks for the fair warning and the link.. I am the sort of person who sits on the fence a great deal though. I merely recalled avidly reading the before mentioned conversation and really wanted to revisit it tonight. I hope you weren't led astray in a very dire way and I would enjoy it, if you wished to recount why and how you were led astray by the text.

The internet is a magnificent tool, but as far as truth goes, I seldom find it anywhere apart from live conversation and in verses of dead poets (although I'm never militant about where to look for it).

I just recently came back to ATS also.

After reviewing the afore mentioned post, Figurative, the predictions made seem to me, and I know it's odd using this word in regards to dire predictions, to rather commonplace in regards to most of the subject matter on ATS and alternative literature being published withing the last 15 years. However I don't really see it as a troll publishing, but I would keep an eye out for anyone plugging a new book or lecture tour. What I read on here I take with a grain of salt and keep in mind the Penn & Teller BS test; are they selling anything, and how much are they charging. Usually when they start talking about upcoming publications and speaking engagements, that's when people should start fact checking and thinking about sources. But don't let that keep you from seeking out the truth, as you see it, sometimes we learn just as much from the journey as we do from the destination.
