It is controversial and true. The quote....'If the Arabs put down their weapons today, there would be no more violence. If the Jews put down their weapons today, there would be no more Israel ." Benjamin Netanyahu.... is accurate if you consider Palestinians. If they didn't lob rockets Israel would have no need to retaliate. Before 1948 that land was a barren wastland no one wanted. As it's tranformed Arabs reacted and came back to claim it.

I don't mind Muslims. The ones in Arabia, Iran, Malaysia, Yemen are fine with me. They can even come to my country if they fit in with the culture here and follow the rules like they expect us to follow when I go to Oman.

But it doesn't happen does it? It never happens !

I have a friend who is in one of the royal families and is no longer a muslim (therefore not in the family...!!) and what he tells you would make your inards curl - they are not a peaceful religion. Now some will refer to the crusades and so they should, but sending men out to crusade where those that ran the church at the time were not Christians but men in power of the most powerful organisation of the day. The church is not the political force it was so those same ilk are now in government. It's not the church or Christianity that was the problem, it was men who did not follow biblical order, they appeared as early as Pauls time too.

Muslims follow their Quaran in what they do, then, today and in the years to come. It is a religion of takeover by physical means. It's not spiritual at all, there is no spiritual component to Islam other than that it's not run by the one true God.

Israel will never ever be defeated. they migh suffer loss eventually but will never ever be defeated. Keep in mind that since 1948 Arab nations have called for the destruction of Israel. They've lobbed rocks and a few rockets.... wow! The best they can do is suicide bombers who blow themselves up and all it does is kill a few. (Islam is a strong religion (Jesus hated religion) but it has a cowardly people. There is no spiritual gift the peopel ahve but they are run by a spiritual force opposite what they think. Proof, bump into one in a mall in London and see the verbal threats that come at you.... very eye opening.

Bump into an Israeli by accident and they apoligize to 'you'!

On the other hand, Asian world got massively westernised, so that with the exception of different languages and some traditions, they can be even considered a part of "western civilization", IMHO.

Don't forget the gun powder was originally invented by the early Chinese. Mongol’s (North Eastern Asian) invasion of Europe in the 13th century AD helped transferring many advanced Asian technologies to Europe. Without Mongol's invasion of Europe in the 13th century, there would have been no such modern civilization came out of Europe. At the time, Mongol's broad integration of religions and philosophies of the world were unprecedently open and tolerant, which made it possible to integrate the civilizations of the world by the western populace. Let's give credit where credits are due.

What the jews did to Palestine is more than enough

maybe the people that are mentioned are factual, but it should be considered how one becomes successful. The socioeconomical differences and connections of jewish familes and culture are hugely responsible for the list of names of "successful" people. And, to me, the culture that the jewish people bring is equally objectionable to that which the muslim people bring...i want neither.

Why didn't the 'brown' and 'blacks' (muslims) get a recognition for inventing numbers, advancements in astronomy, biology, medicine pre-nobel prize in your original post?

What makes you believe you can comprehend it? Or ANYONE in the world for that matter? You seem to forget that the interpretation of a religion is the religion being practiced. But then again, Judaism is stuck in time just like Islam.

People who hate don't want to see or understand why they hate, and they will hate regardless how many facts you throw on the table. Hate is blind, deaf and ultimately, stupid. But that's the way it is. And the haters just salivate for threads like this, for a chance to spread more hate and lies around.

I was just reading a very similar piece written a little earlier. It was some Nazi propaganda exclaiming the superiority of the German race over the Jews. We truly are doomed to repeat the mistakes of the past it would seem.

I must say I haven't read all comments, but felt the urge to reply to yours...

First of all, the Arab countries (at least some of them, those who have OIL) are VERY rich, Saudi Arabia, Quatar, The UAE, Baharaim, Quwait to name a few... and their achievements are still very pale compared to Jews.

Second, for the sake of full disclosure, I am Jewish (not a practicing Jew, but more of an agnostic person), I am Israeli (and proud of it).

And now for the facts, that Article the original posted posted is a pretty old article, posted by a Spanish guy in the early 2000's (I believe 2003 or so although I am not sure), I have see it posted in the Israeli news several years ago...

Please note that the Jewish people have contributed far more then just Nobel prizes, and this is by no way saying that muslims are stupid or anything like that, it's more of a cultural thing - and allow me to explain. In the Jewish communities that were spread out through Europe and then other parts of the world, it was customary to send children to school at the age of 3 (what is called the "Heder" - room in Hebrew), where they were taught to read/write and they were also taught the bible (My own grandfather attended such a Heder when he grew up in Poland). In those communities, wealth wasn't considered being successful (although it did help), but you were measured by your knowledge and your mental skills... this to say, a man was considered truly rich if he was considered someone who was knowledgeable - THIS is my mind is the main drive behind what people dub the "Jewish Genius"... I imagine that Jews are no smarter on average then other races/people... it's also important to remember, that being rich sometimes attracts unwanted attention from the non-Jew neighbors, so that was another way of showing social worth in the community while keeping a low profile.

Now, as to the myth of Jewish wealth, while it is true that SOME Jews were really rich, you need to remember that the majority of Jewish communities were poor... they didn't have the same rights as their indigenous people, and therefore couldn't amass the same wealth... If you will claim that Jews were money lenders, you would be correct, but they were employed by the church... who actually lent the money and got the interest, the Jews were merely the collectors (very smart on account of the church, they can blame the Jews and get the money...)

Now, ignore Nobel prizes (even though they are important), look at the contributions of "Jews" or Israelis in the past years:

- the EPROM (from Intel)
- the Stent
- the MMX (also Intel)
- ICQ (yes, it's a contribution of sort - even though I hate it...)
- Microsoft Kinect (all of the internals are made by an Israeli company called Prime Sense)

There are many others, but we can't list them all here...

Now, you may not agree with Israeli politically, and that's OK. But let's deal with facts, and the main fact is that the Muslim countries, which are ruled by dictators, DO NOT want people smart... they want people poor, mis-informed and obedient, and that all the hardships are "because of the Jews!" it's the oldest trick in the book...

Sorry for this long winded reply - but I've grown tired of being responsible for everything bad that's happening in the world! it's a tough job! and the hours are terrible!

I have to correct you on that; the Decimal System was first traced in China and ancient India, imported from there by Persian and Arabs and then spread through western countries. They only added the zero digit.

Oh, not another one of those...

People should really learn their history - especially if they are Israeli... the greatest Israeli haters out there are Israelis... this is something that should be studied.

Let's start with the name "Palestine", it was given to the area by the Romans after they destroyed the JEWISH template (anyone debating that fact should just go to Rome and see the colosseum - even though the Italians are overpricing it), you will see: 1) a map of Jerusalem, 2) the Titus gate and 3) they discovered a couple of years back that the Roman emperor funded the building of the colosseum with whatever spoils he got from sacking the Jewish temple.

So, after the Romans destroyed the temple, killed many Jews, built their own pagan temple on the ruins of the Jewish temple (a command practice at that time), they decided to change the name of the area to obliterate any memory of the Jews. They named it "Palestine" after the Philistines which were a sea-faring people from the Aegean who were considered the "arch-enemy" of the Jews (Goliath story etc..) they are finding their cities along the southern coastline of Israel, Ashdod, Ashkelon and Gaza were Philistine strongholds among others.. Jerusalem (which is not mentioned by name in the Quran even once - look it up) was renamed "Ilia Capitolina" by them..

So, now that we've established the historic baseline (note the "Palestinians" claim there was no Jewish temple... so... chalk one off), let's move one...

During the years, there has ALWAYS been a Jewish presence in what was named Palestine, in Jerusalem, in Tzfat (Saffad to the Arabs), Tiberia and other areas. In Gaza there was a synagogue that was dated more than 600 years ago... other then that, the land was sparsely populated, with mostly nomadic tribes.

Now, fast forward a bit, here comes the crusaders, they fight the muslims (note, the Jews were killed by both sides... fun being Jewish, isn't it?) eventually, the land is now controlled by the Mamlouks, and then the Turks! during the times of the Turks the land wasn't very important, and didn't get much attention.

In that time, Jews began coming back, mostly because of the "Pogroms" in Europe (again - killing Jews...), the land was mostly empty, save small villages with "Arabs"... when the Jews started expanding and improving the level of life, more Arabs came since it meant that there was more work for them... and here comes WW 1... the Turks lost, and BTW, the Jews helped the British against the Turks, at the cost of life... anyone wants to know more, I'd be happy to elaborate..

Then comes the British and the French (which, personally, I hold responsible for all the problems in the area), and they declared in the 1920 San-Remo agreement, which re-enforced the Balfour declaration of 1917, that the entire area which is today Israel and Jordan should be the Jewish state, then, since the owed the Arab tribes who helped them dring the war, they gave that part to the Hashemites (King Abdalla), who were ousted of Saudi Arabia (actually, to this day, the are considered outsiders in Jordan...)...

I can continue on and on... but the gist of the matter is, this land was not very full of people when the Jews came, we agreed to the partition agreement in 1947, the arabs didn't, in 1948 the Jews declared their country, were attacked, and didn't lose.

In 1956, we attacked Egypt (with Britain and France... them again... imagine that...) and later withdrew...

In 1967, we attacked after Egypt decided to close off the Tiran straits (which is a casus beli) and only then this "occupation" began... but the PLO was founded in 1964... when there was no "occupation"... also, the west-bank was under Jordanian rule, and Gaza under Egyptian rule... the "Palestinians" could have had their state then... actually, they could have had their state in 1949 after the war ended and the armistice was signed... but why didn't they... hmmm... curious... anyone can answer that? (without calling me a Zionist pig etc...)

Also, please note that the "Palestinians" are the ONLY "ethnic group" which have their own UN agency?! while ALL OTHER REFUGEES in the world have a single agency handling them? that's right! also, remember that around 800,000 Jews had to flee their homes in Arab countries, and re-settle in Israel... they didn't get help from the UN...

So... even though Israel makes mistakes, everyone does... come on... look at the facts!
