Very very cool, and I hope someone can study it but... it sounds like the last thing we'd want roaming loose on the surface.

"What if" our sun and planets are just the "protons and atoms" of something else?

Well, the whole idea of the "solar system" atom is just one so that we can visualize it. An actual atom is very different from the way it is portrayed in text books in the fact that the electron orbiting around the nucleus in actually in a wave shape and forms a probability cloud.

The way the atom is, is very hard for our brains to understand so we draw it as a solar system just to grasp the concept.

I used to think the exact same thing though, then when I got into depth on an atom I realized they were not the same.
So it is a good idea, it is just that they teach us the wrong concept of an atom.

Is this the answer to "where is all the supposed tech of these ancient aliens / original star-humans?"

The bacteria ate it.

(quoted from OP)"I find it quite amusing that after all this time of humans ego thinking that we were the only ones to have any sort of intelligence in the world is slowly being picked away, piece by piece, to realize that everything big and small is intelligent."

everything is intelligent, not everything has a consious, thats the difference between humans and everything else, something very intelligent with no consious is scary...well sometimes.

It seems no matter how much destructive force we throw at nature, nature allways is able to counter it. the more terrible we make our world the more advanced and tougher nature gets to cope with us. perhaps that is why the elite are poisoning our land, air, and water. To induce a complex super nature that will enforce our evolution as well. They think they can play god until rust dirt says hey were smarter than you thought!

"Scientists believe that this strange super-organism is using a common microbial language that could be either chemical or electrical -a phenomenon called "quorum sensing" by which whole communities "sense" each other's presence and activities aiding and abetting the organization, cooperation, and growth.

sheesh organization, cooperation, and growth.
mankind could take a note and learn something from these things..lol

The aliens that live in the ocean genetically engineered something to clean up our mess. Thumbs up to them

The above post / sentence doesn't read right. Should say individuals of the human species are considered super-organisms.

(Too late to edit.)

I think that the whole human race is a super organism, as well as certain individuals are making up components of the super organism.. It is hard for us to see that as we are involved and not looking "in" on it, but, yes I completely agree.

I think that about everything though, I think the earth is an organism, making up a bigger organism that is the solar system, making up a bigger organism that is the galaxy.... Really, where does it end?

Interesting thought not to sound like a movie geek, but thats straight out of Men In Black in the first one they had a galaxy in a marble and in the second one they open a locker to find a little race of creatures in this locker and then in the end j kicks open a door thats turns out to be a tiny little locker door leading to a larger world...also kinda similar to Horton Hears A Who...or even Tron...so i guess its not so fetched to say that something so small could be a huge world to something else.. very interesting thought

I'm not familiar with Organisms that much but is there any that just fend for themselves just patrol on there own,not a group effort? just runs solo missions? I'd think most organisms patrol toghether and work together for whatever is that they do...wouldnt that mean that all organisms have this trait to communicate? I mean if a white bloodcell attacks a virus or other undesirables its because it knew it was there.. sensed its presence attacked and deposits the unlucky fellow straight into your colon,So couldnt you say that all organisms have this same trait to somehow sense or comunicate with eachother..anyone understand
lol Am I missing something to why this paticular organisim is reconized for this trait of Social intelligence..please go easy on me in any response for this is a foregin topic for me,just trying to ask a question

No matter what we create, if it interferes with nature, nature will find a way to undo what we have done. Nature does not deal with things in linear predictable ways, it's a dynamic ever evolving beast of creation!.. And because of that I bow down in respect to it's almightiness.

Don't quake on me!

Exactly.

Things like this just makes the whole idea of "human civilization being far older than we think" much more probable.

There could have been living things far more advanced than us, native to this planet, a million years ago, and we probably would find no trace.

It is not a "new" superorganism. You certanily have no basis for calling it "new" unless you think that everything previously unknown to you springs into existence the moment you become aware of it. If may have been previously unknown to man. That doesn't make it "new". More likely it is older than you can imagine and has been in existence long before the beginning of mankind.

Jesus Christ buddy, why not contribute to the discussion rather than relying on the semantics of a title that I took directly from the source site?

Please contribute something or don't post.

Do you think they post msgs to boards down there trying to decide if god/aliens/chance sent them the titanic for lunch? Do they fear population control by TPTB to prolong the food source? Are there a few brave colonies that set out in hope of finding a new titanic? Would BTS be better than ATS down there?

Too bad we humans don't use quorum sensing...we may think we do, but ultimately not. That would be a majority rules kind of thing; whereas for example in my house, the wife gets things to go her way 90% of the time even though the kids and I protest. Same could be said about society, the few outweigh the many.

Her is the first photomicrograph "movie" of the organism on a cellular level.

I was wondering. Most of the time (if not all) we, the human kind, are developing diferent types of bacteria to get rid of things that we made a mess of. Oil spills, radioactive fallouts etc. Have those scientists ever took the time to think if that would backfire on us? What if this bacteria was to mutate somehow and become uncontrolable.
How would we be able to stop it then? How would we be able to confine it and stop the spreading? What if it went out of control and started eating everything in site?
Just thoughts...

But yeah, the bacteria ate it. Really. Well, the stuff the glaciers didn't level, and the earthquakes didn't swallow.

Can't believe so many people still believe in physical immortality despite so much evidence refuting the possibility.

We will all wait breathless as the super creature begins its long journey toward New York itself. Ten thousand years from now as the beast approaches New Foundland, we will all shed a tear and whimper, "why did we not listen to ATS"?
