Gerald Wallace Gets Recruited by the FBI

sports.yahoo.com

In a league of athletic fowards, Portland's Gerald Wallace(notes) is perhaps the most fearless.

Despite a history of concussions and various injuries, Wallace continually sacrifices his body for rebounds, points and loose balls.

He plays with reckless abandon, and it's earned him the fitting nickname of "Crash."

But perhaps Wallace's skills and commitment to the cause are better served in another area of life.

Like, say, while working for the government.

Not being a sports fan in the least I know nothing about Gerald Wallace.

All I can say is the headline caught my attention.

What about you?

Most people mistake me as anti-Government.

This is not true by any length of the definition.

I am however, anti-corruption, within Government.

Yes, I realize that they sometimes walk hand in hand, but not always.

Gerald Wallace - Primetime

It is an interesting piece of news to say the least.

I tried to get involved in watching sports back when Michael Jordan was a big name.

Before he retired, the first time, so I know enough about sports but it does not interest me.

I was also a fan of Bo Jackson but I was raised by a non-sports stepfather.

Too busy working, he would rather play it, then watch it.

And listen to them bitch about exhorbitant salaries.

I find being a conspiracy theorist much more interesting than sports.

S&F This is a cool find, I'm a big basketball fan. I wouldn't be suprised if the F.B.I. would want to recruit someone out of the N.B.A. Gerlad Wallace is 6' 7" and 220 Lbs, he can jump really high and run really fast for a good amount of time. He basicaly plays basketball and works out for a living so why wouldn't you wanna recruit someone like that. Plus he would scare the hell out of me if he kicked in my door and started chasing me down.
I am from Illinois and grew up in the reign of Jordan so I know where you are coming from.

Well, please, by all means expand upon the virtues of the teamwork a basketball team needs.

As well as the "star" element one or two individuals.

Is this a means to get youth involved in the F.B.I. through sports?

The following is my opinion as a member participating in this discussion.

Smells like a publicity stunt. Wallace didn't graduate from college, so he doesn't qualify. First, he'd need to go back and finish up his degree.

If not a PR move, then the Agents just wanted to hang at an NBA practice.
IMO.

Could definitely be just that.

The F.B.I. is all about self-promotion of the organization.

Of course they could as well have done each other a favor.

Interesting!

Maybe Yeahright is onto something...

Keep an eye on it...maybe they need a way into the inside bets, gambling,
all that but then again why would they announce it? Kind of would blow his cover.

Anything is possible.

And I'm keeping a watch for a backlash if the local office follows-up with the story.

Remember, some things can have a negative impact, even if started for the right reasons.

More than likely one Agent or a few.

Nothing in regards to the topic at hand?

Thanks for posting.
