.......help us out with a link or links. Sorry, had to get that off my chest.

We don't always have the time to look all over creation for some of this stuff, so please help the staff out. Much obliged.

Peace

Haha yep. Will do.
I guess it does indeed make it awfully frustrating trying to find the thread people are talking about.

*looks innocently*
Some complaints don't need links though...they're just general complaints.

They sure are...

And yes please folks, include links. I don't know how many times I spent 10 minutes searching a thread with nothing to go on but the words " They are Trolling".

uhhhmmmm..........I'm guilty..

I am really sorry you guys but for the last 2,5 years I have been alerting staff (and I have alerted many a times!!) under the assumption that using the alert button in an post (that violates T&Cs) also included a header (in the U2U) to the post in question....

Again...sorry.

Peace

You're fine. Using the "Alert" button does include a link automatically. It's when people use the "Complain/Suggestion" button we need them to add a link to the content they are complaining about.

If you Alert from a thread or a person's post isn't the link included? That's what I have always assumed.

Yes but under the 'Tools' section, you can click onto 'complaint.'
There you should include links

I just tried it, for my own peace of mind, and it does indeed include a link to the post that the alert button was used in...got me worrying there for a second....

I never used the "Complain/Suggestion" button for the obvious reason that I have no complaints....but also no suggestions. Guess that's why I forgot about that option. But Dr.Love's message is duly noted

Please provide links when contacting staff

Will do..

Peace

But if we use the alert button under a poster's name, it does identify the poster, correct?

ETA: Never mind, Springer answered it.
