Just went through testing with my mother who is 75. My brothers and I were preparing for the worst, because of the symptoms and behavior was
manifesting for Alzheimers. Get this, it was severe B12 deficiency, MRI of brain showed no Alz. But B12 deficiency is onset to the condition, and
mimics the symptoms identically. A study I read said nearly 100 percent of Alz patients are B12 deficient. 50 percent of Alz is inheritable. Gene
testing can determine if you too may be also affected later on. My uncle who has FTD Frontal Temporal Disorder is not considered an Alzheimer
patient. His is much more impacting his families lives, total personality shift, lacks empathy and social appropriate judgement. But B12 is SO So
treatable, daily injections for week, then weekly, then once a month for the rest of her life. Two weeks have passed, and i am amazed at her
improvement. The dr did say there could be some lasting damage given her age and family history, but advised skills and cognitive puzzles, less tv is
a must, more computer surfing and gaming. Go figure, Soduko here she comes! Her long term memory is selective, but her short term is shot. But
recall has improved tremendously, to the point we are no longer considering next steps, but backed up a step or two, so she is still at home on her
own, just writes lots of notes and rereads them too. I can take notes, but geez do I ever go back and read em, uhhhh no?
Just wanted to add this, cause if it can help someone else buy some more time, its worth sharing.
