I know this is speculative but I just want to know what you think.
If you've been watching the news, there's been quite a few airplane crashes this year, I just saw a report on fox news about another one.
Last week, the roof got ripped of a 747 (or 737?).

Do you think these are being caused by alien spacecraft?

What would aliens possibly achieve from destroying airplanes? Its not like we're a threat to them, more so ourselves

since there are no alien spacecraft flying around earth i doubt it

Honestly, I have no idea where you came up with that idea, but it would seem kind of senseless. It has all the benefit of us kicking over an ant hill. What does it prove? That we can? Kind of pointless IMO.

It may not be intentional. Perhaps the planes are just flying through their electromagnetic field.

The reason I ask is because:
1. There's been an increase in UFO sightings
2. There's been an increase in plane crashes

All the OP did was ask for the opinion of people on here regarding his theory. It doesn't require degrading him/her because it doesn't fall in with your scientific theory or theories. Jesus f'ing Christ. If 200,000 people on a website can't get along then maybe some catastrophic end to our civilization really is the best answer.

Many of you may think that Ghost375's idea to link these things is silly, but in Leslie Kean's book 'UFOs; Generals Pilots and Government Officials Go On the Record', she compiled several aircraft-ufo encounters in which the aircraft involved malfunctioned.

There is a theory that the Air France Plane Crash in 09 may have been UFO related .

The plane was designed to withstand a lightning strikes as well -infact Airbus A330 has sophisticated Lightening Strike protection – so even if a lightening strike hit an engine the plane has fail safe systems to compensate for this .. So what else could have happened… well an electrical short circuits can be caused by an EMF pulse. Many near misses with Ufos have reported strong electromegnetic interference, similar to an EMF pulse which disables all electrical equipment. .. could this have happened in this circumstance?

Riiight, because people like Richard "disclosure is happening at warp 9" Hoagland, and the rest of these idiots who have a soapbox have done wonders for ufology. I seriously doubt the question presented in the OP is going to set it back 30 years.

There was a period of time when the multiples of crashes could have been attributed to aggressive behavior on the airforces part, back in the day...
I doubt that this would be still ongoing, unless the shoot down order has been restored to the op plan.
I doubt that there would be a very high spike made in a graph of crash causes if you were graphing UFO involved ones too.
Perhaps there have been a few, but it is the habit of the ATCs to cut airport service or re route air traffic around reported UFOs now.
In China, and elsewhere they have merely stopped landing planes till the UFO took off....whereupon they simply resumed service.
That one where the panel came adrift on the top of the fusalage, looks more like a metal fatigue problem,(though UFO can cause this too) and it is rumured that is what happened to Mantel....

hey the guy is just having his say..does it really matter what people think of what you believe in..most of the best minds in the world have been thought of as crackpots @ some stage..every thing on here are only theories which open up debates ..i for one don't like people getting grief just for having an idea or a point of view..who's to say you are right and he is wrong

Since flying is far more safer than driving a car, those pesky aliens have a lot of car crashes to answer for too. Bastards.

That's a statistical figure, if you take the number of journeys made, a car wins hands down. Talking about UFO's, is anyone getting a strange periodic signal through their speakers, I am, it sounds like a snort every so many minutes.
