New technique helps mapping the brain

Finally we are even closer to mapping the Human Brain, finally we can move forward and unlock another portion of the Human Brain. I have been waiting for this moment for a long time.

This new technique will allow scientists to see how "information flows through the circuits of the brain". This has the potential of explaining "perceptions, sensations and thoughts are generated in the brain".

"We are beginning to untangle the complexity of the brain," said Dr. Tom Mrsic-Flogel, lead researcher. "Once we understand the function and connectivity of nerve cells spanning different layers of the brain, we can begin to develop a computer simulation of how this remarkable organ works. But it will take many years of concerted efforts amongst scientists and massive computer processing power before it can be realized."

I can't wait till the day when we have a complete simulation of the brain, in that day we will understand the truth, and the secrets to immortality, because then we can finally transfer our consciousness from this biological body, to a more lasting body created from other particles.

I am fascinated with the human brain. There is so much about it that we don't know about. I can only imagine the possibilities if we were able to use all of it's functionality versus the small parts of it we currently use. I wonder if this new technique of mapping our brain will help treat certain brain disorders.

This kind of reminds me of that movie "Limitless". Pretty cool film, check it out if you haven't already.
