Teresa Heinz Kerry Tells Pittsburgh Reporter To "Shove It"

BOSTON -- Channel 4 Action News anchor Scott Baker witnessed and his photographer captured the exchange between Teresa Heinz Kerry and a Pittsburgh Tribune-Review editor following a pre-convention event on Sunday evening.

Teresa Heinz Kerry urged her home-state delegates to the Democratic National Convention to restore a more civil tone to American politics, then minutes later told a newspaperman to "shove it."

Video of the event is available at the above URL. Well, people have been saying that Teresa is a loose cannon. In fairness to Teresa, watch the video and you will see that the reporter repeatedly questioned Teresa about something she denied having said. After repeated denials, she finally told the reporter to shove it.

I can't help but like Teresa. Unlike most political wives, she's not full of canned responses and/or an obvious meglomaniac. I have heard her labelled as "flakey". Well, I guess I'm flakey too cause I appreciate her sense of "realness".
I'd love to tell a few reporters to "shove it". Heck, there are a hell of a lot of people I'd love to tell to "shove it!

I just caught the weekend CNN/People biographies they do (at like 5am on Sat/Sun), and they did Teresa.

Wow. She's amazing. Her life just blew me away. (As potential First Ladies go).

Like Hillary is all posturing and talk, whereas Teresa actually works her butt off, but you never hear about it...and she'd rather you not.

Very powerful woman, without being in your face at all (unless she's telling you to "shove it").

I'd do her.

Kidding on the last part.

Well, actually, she pulled a John. She said one thing in the speech and then immediately after it denied saying what she said. And the repeated question was asking about her use of "un-American" which she just kept denying she used.

To give a speech on returning civility to politics and then telling a reporter from a paper that leans the opposite of your politics to "shove it" isn't something you just wave off.

I guess marrying into money doesn't buy you good taste or common sense.

You may be right. Asked what First Lady she'd most like to emulate she said Laura Bush.

No not Laura Bush. That woman is a stepford wife. I swear she must be on meds or something. How could a woman sit quietly by with a serene smile, while her husband was turning the future world into a cesspit of pollution and corruption. She must not have a soul.

Please Teresa, let this get through to you, don't be a Laura Bush. You have personality, emotions and a soul, don't ever loose them.

Well, if asked the same question, that would be my answer too. But you've hung with me long enough to know I couldn't pull it off....I've got strong suspicions Teresa can't either. Well, in fact, done deal. Miss Laura would have never said this.

I think it's worth recalling the exact exchange:

What she said in her speech:

"We need to turn back some of the creeping, un-Pennsylvanian and sometimes un-American traits that are coming into some of our politics," she told her fellow Pennsylvanians at a Sunday night reception at the Massachusetts Statehouse.

What happened next:

Minutes later, Colin McNickle, the editorial page editor of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, questioned her on exactly what she meant by the term "un-American," according to a tape of the encounter recorded by WTAE Channel 4 Action News.

Heinz Kerry said "I didn't say that" several times to McNickle. She then turned to confer with Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell and others. When she faced McNickle again a short time later, he continued to question her, and she replied, "You said something I didn't say. Now shove it."

Who F'ing cares????

I mean, what difference does it make what she said anyway?

Are you sure she said "creeping" Valhall? I heard "creepy" and laughed my head off. Makes more sense to me.

It's becoming apparent to me though in videos of her that she's primarily running spanish through her head, then translating haltingly to English as she goes.

She did indeed say "un-American" but may or may not have realized it when confronted with a media pit bull and going "J-Lo" on him. Who really knows what she thought she said though?

I've seen the replay a few times on CNN this morning, so I'm guessing Fox is spewing bagel bits with it over there.

Could backfire. If people find Cheney's potty mouth "refreshing" I'd imagine most of us would like to tell the media to shove it now and agin.

I will say that regardless of what she say or not said the women has balls, and anybody that knows how the media will twist whatever she may say for sensationalism it had it coming. good for her.

And for bush mother that lady had bush senior in a leash

For Laura bush, she is a zombie, she is groomed to said and do what she is told by Mama bush and daddy bush and then by husband bush, I wonder how she has expended all this years as a wife of a man that obviously does not have something good to say in his life. She has to be on something very powerful to keep her going all smiling and proper; the bush family has sucked out her soul. The are vampires

How many of you people praising TA RAIZA were the ones freaking at Cheney's comment on the Senate floor?

Let me guess, your response will be that should not be allowed on the Senate floor. That is unprofessional.

Common, admit that she could spit on the Constitution as long as she has "Liberal Democrat" behind her name.

Let's see,

Cheney got angry to a fellow politician for telling the truth, kerry wifes got mad at a pesky media member, hum, it seems that the two scenarios are different here.

I like the woman she has balls and she is not afraid to show them.

And god has nothing to do with this.

Although I think Teresa is a bit scary and she is probably MUCH smarter than her cardboard hubby, she is MUCH more palatable thatn Hilary ever was.
Whatever was said is beyond the point, I think the media is way over the top in all areas. They spin and scam and do not know the meaning of impartiality, IMHO. They ae too busy toting the party line and/or telling us what THEY want us to know. Look what they did to Dean!

DISCLAIMER: I am NOT a democrat. No democratic, liberal thoughts were used in this meassage.
