Plasma ball UFO over Moscow

Same color as the plasma ball UFO that I once saw.

Ok i spent 6:40 watching a TU-154 in a holding pattern,

Honestly.....I was expecting to see another Chinese Lantern video.....I was happily surprised!!! That is a very interesting and hard to explain video!!! Bravo!

I'm not sure what it could be....I suppose it might be some sort of rare plasma phenomenon like Ball lightening...but It certainly does not look like Ball Lightening or any other 'plasma ball' I've ever heard described.....at least not a naturally occurring one. It kind of reminds me of a flying plasma globe....you know the ones you could buy at a gift shop that looked like a crystal ball with electricity shooting all around the inside of it when you touched the glass! LOL!

I do suppose this could of course be a hoax....it should at least be addressed as a possibility. Now days its pretty easy to hoax just about anything you can imagine if you have enough skill, and even moderately priced software/hardware. Do you know if there were any other witnesses, or anything else to back up the sighting?

I am definitely not a skeptic when it comes to UFO's but i think the plasma effect off the landings lights was caused by ice crystals in the air,It looks pretty cold there.

I did notice just now notice the date......April 1.

Still it could be real...but I am always more skeptical of anything on this date for obvious reasons....Of course that leaves real, or hoax on the table. I don't agree with the other posters suggesting its plane lights....although the one posters suggestion that the 'plasma' effect might be caused by ice crystals is an interesting Idea...I will comment more about that in a reply to him.

I'm still not sure what to think......I still think the video looks genuinely mysterious. I do like your Idea that Ice crystals could be causing the 'plasma' effect. I would ask you though, if you have ever heard of such an effect from Ice Crystals? I have heard other odd images as being potentially caused by ice crystals but I don't think I've ever heard of such a 'plasma effect' being a possible illusion they can cause. I find the concept interesting, and somewhat believable....however I think its important to distinguish between what illusions are known to be caused by airborne Ice particles, before jumping to such a conclusion.......'airborne ice crystals' could be overused as a catch all explanation for any odd looking thing in the sky....much as how 'Swamp Gas' was used in the 50-60's

Reminds me a little of the oscillation effect by this video of a star. I'm not stating its a star in the OP's vid but just the effect is simliar.

The camera seems to be on a tripod or they have very steady hands .Not an expert on camera effects ,but i am pretty sure when a camera is zoomed in those light conditions that it can be hard to get a sharp focus and magnifies or blurs the object,hence the pulsating plasma effect. Its over Moscow ,so there will be pollution , ice and snow in the air all adding to the effect.If the owner of this copyrighted video has a location and direction,then we can see where the airport is.

Yes you seem to be right about the tripod. I have actually had many years of experince with camera's, both running them professionally and just as a hobby. Back to the tripod...it could conceivably also be that he is resting his camera on a railing or some other object too....either way it seems too steady to be a completely handheld shot.This does make me wonder if its faked though.....well that and the date, which was April 1. A Tripod shot clip is much easier to add animation to, simply for the reason that there is less shaking or unexpected camera movement. It can still be done, mind you, but it takes a vast amount more work to animate and have it look correct. Your Idea of the focus is valid......and I have seen that same thing happen in many videos....often such videos will show a defined odd shape when a distant light goes out of focus making the whole thing look more alien. That doesn't seem to be what it happening here though...it does not appear to be out of focus enough to cause anything like this.....in my opinion that is. I still like the Idea of ice crystals, but I'd feel better about it if someone out there has a link either explaining how it can cause this very particular effect, or another video showing the same effect.

So we are left with Hoax......Odd phenomenon (alien ship, or even just natural yet incredibly rare plasma phenomenon)......or just a plane with an odd optical illusion, possibly due to ice crystals.....Honestly I could imagine it being any of these. Knowing the direction of any potential airports would be nice, as you suggested. I would point out that even if their is one in the area, it would still not prove its a plane.....only make it more likely...just as if there is no airport around would it prove it is not a plane.

At least its not another Damn Chinese Lantern video though!!!

I don't think this video is new as I've seen it before here on ATS and believe it was debunked as just normal planes.

People can post vids on youtube and put whatever date or place, or title they want on them but it doesn't mean that's truly when and where they originated.

Its just a plane seen through dirty / unsteady atmosphere.
Anyone who's an amateur astronomer sees much the same thing of stars through a telescope.
Its the 'twinkling' effect magnified.

On the start of the video in the OP it's stamped with a copyright for ' oleg tarabanov' The guy has a youtube channel and films these 'UFO's regularly. The airport setting (wherever it is) seems to be one of his favourite locations so no wonder it looked familiar.

On this video (filmed a couple of months ago in the same location) the 'UFO' seems to have flashing lights at either end. So a flying object, with flashing lights, at what appears to be an airport would likely be ..... a plane.

Looks like the guy's intent on presenting planes as UFOs.


(Edit to add, oleg tarabanov seems to film all of this in an area of Moscow called Sokolinaya Gora or Falcon Mountain )

Either the same guy is filming airplanes,there are 4 airports in the area or that place is swarms with UFOs,in that case we should all move there

Its fairly easy to judge where the airport is. If you watch the lower area of sky behind the buildings you can see other airplanes taking off from it.

plasma ball??? Pull the other one buddy, I think it plays jingle bells.

Clearly a plane, the fact that you can also see the strobe towards the end of the video is a dead giveaway.

Then again, maybe its an alien disco ship.

Ugh...I dont know about this one. I too think we've seen this one around here before but I could be wrong.
Im not sure what to think but I have a feeling there is an earthly explanation for this one.
