Dream about shapeshifting beings

Hopefully I can gain some useful insight to this strange dream i had.

As of the new year I have quit all intoxicants and/or considered drugs. I use to partake occasionally but since then have delved head on into my sitting meditations, a very healthy diet, and practicing things that i am gifted in and exercising my talents.

As of the new year also, along with many others on ats i would think, I have been having a lot of dreams. One dream, on the night of the 31st of march, i would like to share - maybe i can get some insight from you guys

As this dream started out I was in somewhat of a common area between shopping centers. In front of me was a beautiful fountain with the calming sounds that water has on me, and the moon was very full, as i distinctly recall the moonlight gleaming off of the otherwise dark ferns and jungle like gardens in between the buildings.
I walked straight ahead into a chique one story supermarket. The lady behind the very large counter gave me no vocal greeting, but was definitely aware of my presence as she did not take her eyes off of me.
The shelves were lined with many things. Having a thirst for knowledge I skimmed the produce in the back and then moved into an aisle lined with books (in a supermarket? Somewhat strange). After picking out a book and looking at it, I noticed a slender, pale man with straight shoulder-length blonde hair standing quite close to me. Immediately I notice that he had cat-like pupils, and sending my awareness through the store with a thought, I realized that all of these people had something terrestrial about them. He noticed that I was aware of his eyes, and he began to move towards the produce in the back to "primp it" or something. I stopped him and asked him, "Wait! I just would like to know what you are. Please tell me what you all are?" The slender blonde man agreed to my question and left through the double doors in the back of the store.
I glanced around, and found that a very tall man was standing before me. He had short brown hair, and was wearing a red star trek uniform, with the communicator badge and all. He spoke to me telepathically and said that there are a race of what I can only describe as a very large rat, but covered with very long curly hair on its back, that have the ability to shapeshift. He then thought me with the statement that when a piece of this rodents flesh is eaten, your human biology ceases and you become a shapeshifter.
*Dream Excerpt*
I was pretty repulsed at this thought and basically cut him out of my mind and left for the front doors. I turned around, and in the heat of my emotion, I told them that they were disgusting, vile, parasitic creatures (or something like that). These guys sensed my human emotion and thought i was declaring war on them, and a few began to turn into those large rodents and climb on the shelves overlooking me.
I felt it was time to leave and left the doors and walked just beyond the fountain with the moon gleaming so brightly when the female clerk at the front called me to. I turned around and was still pretty heated, but she plead, "We are not all like this (pertaining to their enjoyment of fear)." I felt a strong sense of love from her at that moment. She said to me, "I must tell you something.."
I replied "Please be quick," as i was beginning to come out of the dream.

I havent heard what she wanted to tell me yet.


*The dream excerpt was basically a "dream within a dream" as I'd describe it. I was on what seemed to be Earth, but i was staring across a large body of water to an Island where these shapeshifting creatures were. They were kidnapping humans from my village and storing them in their labyrinth of tunnels. I launched an attack on them with many of my brothers to get back those they had kidnapped. This happened as the man in the star trek uniform was telling me about his race. He took great joy in the expressions of grief i exhibited.*

I also don't recommend falling asleep to the movie Inception, followed by a David Icke Youtube lecture anymore.
Those dreams can take a lot out of you, I need like 5 cups of coffee to snap out of those the next day...
then I check on ATS and that dream starts up all over again!

So it seems your dream is an inner reflection or is a mirror of what you are going through and your journey to a higher level of consciousness drug and alcohol free. I see the shape-shifter as the old you something that wants to eat you up or destroy you and has the power to drag you down, take you under the earth to a labyrinth or hell of sorts. Also you didn't get the message from the female working in the shop, perhaps you are out of touch or are trying to get in touch the feminine side of yourself and you "not listening" to your inner self. It sounds like you are making a great deal of progress on the road to recovery but fear shape-shifting back into the old you. And you face an inner battle with these demons.
