A very interesting story.

I found this little snippit

It is difficult to deal with this type of personal testimony. We don’t know who W W McCormick is or was, and there are a lot of McCormicks in Abilene: the best known is perhaps Wayne McCormick, a television newsreader. As for Atlas Mathis, the only trace of anyone by this name is in connection with this story: no records of birth, marriage or death, which is very suspicious. One blogger, White Rabbit (from Missouri, USA), claims to have spoken to a grandson who was raised by Mathis, but claims of this sort are not unusual in the blogosphere and must be treated with scepticism. The story, which was first reported by Brad Steiger in Worlds before Our Own (Putnam, 1978), has every appearance of a hoax. In the age of the internet, where checking the circumstantial details of these stories has become so much easier than it once was, those details, like the alleged Room 24, begin to crumble under a lack of evidence.

Plus plenty more coal finds here, some are very interesting

An axample extract

Grooved Sphere from South Africa, 2.8 Billion Years Old.

Over the past several decades, South African miners have found hundreds of metallic spheres, at least one of which has three parallel grooves running around its equator. The spheres are of two types -- "one of solid bluish metal with white flecks, and another which is a hollow ball filled with a white spongy center." Roelf Marx, curator of the museum of Klerksdorp, South Africa, where some of the spheres are housed, said: "The spheres are a complete mystery.

They look man-made, yet at the time in Earth's history when they came to rest in this rock no intelligent life existed. The globes are found in pyrophyllite, which is mined near the little town of Ottosdal in the Western Transvaal. This pyrophyllite is a quite soft secondary mineral with a count of only 3 on the Mohs' scale and was formed by sedimentation about 2.8 billion years ago. On the other hand the globes are very hard and cannot be scratched, even by steel." The sphere with the three parallel grooves around it are too perfect to be anything but man made. The Precambrian mineral deposit where the globes are found is dated to be at least 2.8 billion years old. At this time simple microscopic cells were all that was alive on the earth. But this is obviously not true. Who created or left behind these magnificent spheres. Obviously man made, and stronger than steel, what was their purpose for the people who visited and left them behind in time?

This is very interesting to me.

My Great Grandfather was killed in the Lutie mine explosion.

This is only about 30 miles west of here.

Really?

This is all nit picking and semantics.

Dont be an ass.

I'm sure that all of the old coal miners were fastidious in the correct usage of specific verbage.

As far as the 2miles vs 1.5 miles? Mines werent regulated worth a damn back then. If the boss said dig, you did or you left. Ask my Great Grandfather. He died in one.

I spent hour looking not even hard evidence in this thread but anything which could drive me to the conclusion that this discussion have any sense but I didn't.

There is no data to be analyzed. This thread is about nothing. I wested my time. It aper to be some kind of epidemic on ATS that people give stars to anything which sounds exacting without even checking what is all about. Please don't give stars to such threads and don't west time of other people.

ok, how can a wall be embedded in a coal seam?

isn't that created under immense pressure?

how would that retain it's form when they said they broke some of the squares open?

not a scientist but i think some stuff would be mushed.

Really? I didn't know we had developed carbon dating back in 1928... Carbon dating is quite foolproof if done correctly so I really fail to see how it's unreliable.

Also to the OP: you got this article off a blog whos author claims that "historians would agree that human civili[z]ation began sometime in the 1850's" hinting to the fact that either A) Humans hadn't organized socially before that, B) no human culture had developed science, mathematics, organized religion, music etc. and C) ancient artifacts and sites around the world hinting at civilization were in fact not created by human civilization. The author of the blog post that this op is based on is a moron...clear an simple.

Could be wrong, but i thought the author meant 'Industrial' civilisation..iow, the Industrial age. Even mainstream historians (whom i disagree with a lot) give a date of about 6000bc for the earliest human civilisation...1850ad refers to the industrial revolution.

How old the human race really is?, My thoughts.

I find it ironic that some cant grasp the idea of the earth or the human race being older than they have been origionally taught. Or the possibility that there could have been another race here before us. After all, we have "written testiomony" of ancient egypt, but we can still not find definite proof of how even the pyramids were constructed, nor by whom.

I see it as direct evidence of the power of a lie told well and often enough...archaeology, anthropology, religion being probably the big three areas where this technique has been practised for centuries.

"Is humanity older then told and if so why only 200,000 years or so? "

Humans older then this.. probably not.. however other beings living on Earth/Eridu.. more then likely!

It may even turn out, that humans are not the original, top of the tree/intelligent species on Earth.

It's possible the UFO's and what we call ET's are actually from this planet, survivors of a prior epoch...in which case, they would have more of a claim on Earth than we do.

Maybe that's why it's kept quiet...nothing to do with upsetting the religious (as religion has already accepted ET as 'cosmic brothers and sisters'...what if they're androgynous or based on machine intelligence?) but has more to do with our rights to be here? Or something along those lines.

Could you please tell me how you would go about carbon dating a '286 milion year old' piece of concrete?

1. What's so shocking to believe that tens of millions or hundreds of millions of years ago someone lived here.

Its not shocking to me friend and I asked in the OP what some thought about the builders whether native to EA or non native.

2. Why assume they were humans?

reference answer above.

3. Do you honestly think that Humans will always be here? That we will never go extinct?

No I dont think humans will always be on this sphere as I dont always think they were in the past nor do I think they will be in the future maybe new sphere recycle reality ect.. Now their soul/spirit/ vessels of flesh I think change with environment the soul/spirit are located within.

4. Don't you think that in another 300 million years something else will inhabit this planet?

Well not sure the universe can always close.

Thanks everyone for the data shared. When scanning the pages I could see many wishing for more visual data presented and 1 apologizes that it was not obtained. Overall from the added data within the thread I see there being many potential answers to the op and ALL should be evaluated.

Personally I feel the human species if you can consider spirits/souls within a EA computable body a species, have been around for a very very very long time. Its the essence within that makes 1. I am happy many enjoyed the thread and those who didn't I will try and get your love another time another thread. So to all be well and Thanks again

I love topics like this!

I read about about forbidden history and out of place artifacts and it was amazing. I believe we have been on this planet far longer than people believe or even realize. IMO there has been life on this planet in various forms over millions of years and for some reason they don't want us to know that or they are in denial themselves

Did a little research on mine in Ok. As it turns out there is no current mining permit for Heavener East Mine #5. Mines 1-4 are still in permit. So 5 was either shut down, or never existed.

Found this on the same site: www.ok.gov...&_Assistance/Abandoned_Coal_Mines_in_Tulsa_County/index.html

OCC is in consultation with OGS to review existing blueprint maps and previous studies of coal mining in Tulsa County in an effort to better determine the areas that have been mined by underground methods. While maps exist for many of the underground mines in Tulsa County, it is not a complete set. Examination of these maps indicates that there are other areas known to have been mined but for which maps are not available. The available mine maps may lack data such as depth (from surface to mine rooms) and room height (from floor to mine roof). There is also the challenge of correlating the old maps to features on the surface. OCC is in the process of electronically scanning the old mine maps that are available and then overlaying the maps on aerial photographs of the surface. This has been accomplished for an area around the Tulsa Fairgrounds but remains incomplete for most of Tulsa County. The project is being undertaken to provide a resource to OCC mine reclamation staff who are charged with investigating subsidence incidents due to underground mines in Tulsa County and in other areas of the state.

there are many accounts of history being suppressed all over world. If knowledge is power, someone doesn't want us to have any of it.

theres an old saying in texas.."never let the truth get in the way of a good story"..ive heard a number of stories about fascinating finds in coal mines ..they always seem to be hushed up ..and never have any actual facts to go on..now either the government are very good at been every where at once to hide these things from the public ...or ...its a very good story to make money in a time when it was very hard to come by...my moneys on the latter

Hey I found ancient artifacts in a coal mine.. give me free money?

What?

i didnt need more proof that the true history of this planet and humanity has been suppressed for thousands of years but its always nice to see.

the obvious reason for them to lie to us is they have knowledge and we have what they tell us. in doing so they control us. its all about control it always has been. if the population as a whole knew that the cycle or creation and destruction was cyclical and that we are at the end of our current cycle people would stop buying all the useless crap they do and spend time asking questions like " why did t you warn us? " and they cant have that now can they?

I love fictional stories like this thread. Very entertaining. Always told to someone from a family member or a friend of a friend, but never has or will have any evidence. Nothing more than modern legend and myth making, but to the ignorant who blindly reply how they completely believe this crap without even using a modicum of reason...well, maybe that's we are looked upon as a bunch of tin foil hat wearing morons.

People, it is o.k. to be entertained, but reading this thread and some of the replies really hurts my brain.

The least possible conclusion here is being embraced as fact by nothing more than some dude on the internet telling you what you want to believe. Get it?

We just can't form any valid opinion at all with nothing but one mans words.

I hear that, but many millions of religious people around this planet have formed very strong opinions based on one man's word.

(not saying they're correct in their opinion, just that it has affected millions/billions)

Having said that, really it's not just this one old miner saying this, there are *many* instances around the world going back a few hundred years, of many people not connected to each other, finding and reporting OOParts (Out Of Place Artefacts)
