There are at least two layers to the tv series.

First is the obvious one: Aliens have come to earth to dominate us. Some earthlings resist.
Aliens are the evil ones, humans the good ones.
David Icke and others support this interpretation of the series, and some say it is the illuminati showing their convoluted plans through a TV series.
The humans becomes our heroes. We can relate to them because they are humans.
The aliens are mostly without feelings. Having logic as their guiding way. Very much like the Vulcans of Star Trek btw.
Humans have feelings and this is being announced as a good thing.

Secondly you can interpret the show from a religious angle:

Anna’s, the leader of the V’s, name is a palindrome for the Sumerian God An ~ AnnA
So Anna is God. God says she is of Peace. It is also a hivemind like constellation.
God can give bliss/peace to her subjects. God wants to have everyone under the same roof, as it would mean peace. From this perspective humans are the fallen ones, the cast aways from God.
And when God gives bliss to humans it could be linked to the rapture.
But humans have dug down into the earth(heaven above hell below?) as the last stand against God.

So who am I rooting for?

My friend, if you ask me , analyzing V is a waste of your time. It is as simple as earthlings = good guys , aliens = bad guys + human emotion can change aliens to good guys too..

But I must say, killing off 3 major characters in the last show was a hoot. Oh and Anna baaaaad but still hot.

Well judging by the season finale, you would be with Anna or "god" since you probably were blissed too?....

That was an awesome finale, where humans couldnt see the "Blue Energy" and the entire fleet that was on their way.

Everyone being blissed, including the pastor, I thought it was sad because his role as a pastor, he wanted to be closer to god or have answers, that was a great scene.

Im wondering myself, the comparisons. Now I definitely wonder from time to time how possible would it be to have one or even a thousand objects in our sky or in eye's view, but we really cant see because of some kind of energy. That would be insane.

If people were told "come to me, I have the best medicines, I can save your life, I can cure you, we are of peace" People will probably look up to them as god anyway.

Well thats my point exactly, from one perspective Humans = Good, Alien = Evil. But from another it is Aliens = Good, Humans = Evil.

The truths we cling to depend greatly upon our own point of view.

Well I was going for the metaphor of the show, not people in the show seeing them as God. But oh well

Or it is a poorly written show with no ongoing plot line...
