the link still works for me. I would post it, but its only numbers, and most people do not trust to click links like that. Google it and click the first link.
and I still get Facebook updates from them occasionally, seems far from dead to me. They may even be cooking up a big story to release in the near future, who knows?
Im just crossing my fingers and hoping that maybe someday they release some truths about 9/11

This is the replacement to Wikileaks by previous staff that were unhappy with Assange -

Actually rather than call it a replacement, i would call it a competitor to Wikileaks. Although the staff previously worked with Assange on Wikileaks and the Pirate Network.

openleaks.org...

OpenLeaks is a project that aims at making whistleblowing safer and more widespread. This will be done by providing dedicated and generally free services to whistleblowers and organizations interested in transparency. We will also create a Knowledge Base aiming to provide a comprehensive reference to all areas surrounding whistleblowing.

About Openleaks

The basic ideas behind OpenLeaks originated as a set of ideas for extending WikiLeaks. The focus was originally technical, and its main aspects were presented in an application to the Knight Foundation, which raised considerable interest, but was ultimately denied. WikiLeaks however, does not provide an environment that allows us to follow our ideas, which prompted us to found the OpenLeaks project in September of 2010.

Date set for Assange extradition appeal

[atsimg]http://files.abovetopsecret.com/images/member/5a54fd81d294.jpg[/atsimg]

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange will fight a decision to extradite him to Sweden over allegations of sexual assault in a two-day hearing in July.

The hearing at the High Court in London will take place on July 12 and 13, the court said.

Some law experts say the appeal could drag the extradition process out for more than a year.

A British judge ruled in February that extradition to Sweden would not breach Mr Assange's human rights.

After the ruling, Mr Assange earlier vowed to fight extradition to Sweden, where prosecutors want him to face allegations of sexual assault against two women.

Other countries may not be reporting on him as much but he still pops up on the news in Australia here and there. He also made a recent Webcam appearance on an Australian political talk show on the ABC and slammed our PM live on air, while she was in the studio

Here is the clip -

The entire 7 minute clip is about Wikileaks and has some audience questions for the PM but Assange makes an appearance at about 2:40 onwards. This was from the 14th of March.

By the same logic, one might say that Anonymous is dead too. Somehow I doubt either is really gone, I think the MSM just stopped paying attention.

I agree. The media will use the Wikileaks and Assange card when it best suits them, not until then. Just because it's quiet on the front, doesn't mean it's dead and gone...

I think this speech, taken only a month ago says much.

It was an awesome episode, i normally watch it every week, but i missed that epsiode. I just happen to come across it on youtube!!

It's ironic that when Rudd admits a mistake it makes to the MSM news the next day but the incident with Assange went under the radar.....

I think Julian assange was just a player in a false flag event. of course the government is going to demonize him, thus making him the hero in the eyes of "truthers." your first impulse is to think that the government wants to take him down. its fishy to me. otherwise why would he refer to the 9/11 truth as a "false conspiracy theory." it's a psy-op in my opinion.

He is alot more driven and focused on the topic of free press and government transparency than you may think.

Did you realise that even at 18 as a young hacker in Australia he hacked ''Milnet'' and Nasa and had a certain amount of control for 2 years before being caught?

He was taken to court but only fined and given a good behaviour bond as he was only young and in those days hacking wasnt such a serious crime compared to today's standards.

I really recommend this documentary;

Wikirebels is an in-depth look inside Wikileaks and Julian Assange. His history, motives and direction for the future. It is a fantastic documentary and has a film crew following him around for a 6 month period whilst in Europe. This was started before the whole Cablegate and Sweden Saga....

If you have any doubts about him, i recommend it

It is quite long but it is a quality doco and worth the 50 minutes of run time!!

Blimey, the PM talks a bucket load of BS doesn't she. No wonder she's the PM.

What's 'hypothetical on hypothetical' about the *fact* that al least two, highly placed US politicians have called for Assange's execution?

Absolutely nothing. It was said, it happened...there's nothing hypothetical about that.

And being born in Oz, and talking with an Ozzy accent somehow proves she is not talking out of school to the US?

She starts off denying information on Ozzy citizens is shared with foreign powers (the USA), then turns around and says, that yes, she does share 'intelligence' with 'allies'...in drugs cases, terrorism and so on..which is weird, because she denied providing information, then admitted she did, then ignored the fact the question was *specifically* regarding Wikileaks personnel and went off about drugs or terrorism, which wasn't even the question!

Blimey..i thought Bush was a knob.

Is she on drugs or something

I'd say it's an alternative to whistleblowers rather than competition. Operation method is different. Same for other new leak sites such as indoleaks.

I guess i called it a competing site because the Openleaks founders didnt quite agree with Assange on some issues and decided to start their own site.

Although you are right though, when it comes to whisteblowing, there are no competitors, just collaboration
