Tonight I ran into my friend on Facebook that I haven't talked to in six years. We were best friends.. I'm nervous because he left in an odd way. Just kinda dropped off the face of the earth. I'm worried he'll do it again.

I guess I'm making this thread on ATS to vent. Because I have nobody to talk to about it.

In those six years every once and awhile I'd get depressed just thinking about it. I mean I'm an only child and he was the closest thing to a brother I've ever had.

Alright guys I guess that's my story. Just needed to share that with someone.

All I can say is people come and go. If they come back, and you enjoyed your time with your friends, then enjoy what time you might have with them, again.

I think it's great news that you've managed to find/catch up with him! That has always been my favorite thing about FaceBook, the ease in which we can find those who were dear to us in the past. I'm sorry to hear that you had lost touch for so long. I just want to say that it's ok to fear losing him again, but more importantly you should enjoy this time you have. You have been given an opportunity that not everyone gets. Cherish it, learn from it, and feel the blessings that come from it. If he "disappears" from your life again, at least you will have had this time together. I very strongly believe that everything happens for a reason. We may not ever know the reason, or even like it, but his coming into your life now, does have meaning behind it, and if you lose him again, there is reason there to. Have you ever told him how you feel? Does he know how important he is to you? If not, maybe this is part of it. Tell him how hard it was for you while he was gone, and how important it is to you to keep him in your life (even if it is only through FB)

Thank you that actually helps a lot.

You know I'm not sure why now was the time. I just needed to share this with someone because it's driving me insane. Haha

I'm not sure how it's going to work out. But I'll update here. Thanks for your kind words of advice. It's hard to tell myself but I guess if I don't try then I'm not going to gain anything.
