Sebastian Pflugbeil, president of the private German-based Society for Radiation Protection, said Japan's efforts to pull the Fukushima plant back
from the brink signaled "the beginning of the catastrophic phase."
"Maybe we have to pray," he said
“There is talk of an apocalypse and I think the word is particularly well chosen,” Guenther Oettinger (Europes Energy Chief) told the European
Parliament, just as the danger rating at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant was upgraded from five to six out of seven. “Practically everything is
out of control. I cannot exclude the worst in the hours and days to come.”
"The worst-case scenario doesn't bear mentioning and the best-case scenario keeps getting worse," Perpetual Investments said in a note on the
crisis.
“When I discovered it was built right over a minor fault, I threw my hands in the air. When I asked why they did it, they explained they did not
want to have to (pay for) too long a cooling pipe from the ocean…” -Lee Furlong/Scientist/Auditor for IAEA
“Basically whatever can go wrong has gone wrong.” -John Price/British Nuclear & Safety Expert, Former Monash University Professor.
“In terms of severity, this accident left Three Mile Island in the rear-view mirror several days ago.”-Peter Bradford/Former Commissioner at the
Nuclear Regulatory Commission. (in March)
Just make sure and wash real good and everything will be A-OK!
