I live in Lompoc near Vandenberg AFB where the first X-37B landed in December. Apparently they have finished processing it at Vandenberg and are likely transporting it by flatbed truck back to Boeing Phantom works. It just passed me heading eastbound on Highway 246 toward Highway 101. I was going westbound, it passed going the opposite direction. It has a green canvas cover over it but since it's cut closely and tailored to fit the wings and fins the shape is definitely the X-37. Unfortunately I didn't have my camera to get a picture. I am assuming they will truck it down highway 101 to 405 south and then Boeing Phantom works.

If you live along this route and have the time get out there and gets some pics, this is the closest you will ever get to black project hardware!! It should be in Santa Barbara around 1PM, Thousand Oaks 2PM, San Fernando Valley 3PM, LAX South Bay area 4 PM. This is a convoy, they have leading and trailing cars, all vehicles have flashing yellow lights.

Enjoy your day!

That's why I am posting it her, so someone else along the route can get pic or vids. I have plenty of better things to do than put bogus posts on here.

Well, people are waiting. Perhaps you can fill-in the least knowledgable as I am, about what it is exactly. I'm in my dark place on this one.

Everyone in the area needs to block off the Hi-way and make them uncover it so we can see pictures. That is OUR super cool plane made with OUR tax money. I want to see it. Stop them!!!!

And you would also be spending some time in the Federal Pen, if the private security guards didn't blow your head off first. Yes I am kicking myself for not having my camera with me, would have been a great shot.

Ok fine, did my search. Came up with this to confirm for the OP.

From Wiki

A second X-37B was launched on 5 March 2011 with the mission designation USA-226.

surely, if the X-37B is in space, it cannot be on a truck.

and would this not mean this is a X-37 aircraft, possibly X-37A/C (if these exist.)

"Giese said he anticipates a third X-37 flight some time in the future, but the Air Force has not decided when it would launch. The X-37 craft that just returned to Earth in December would be assigned to fly a third OTV mission, according to Giese.

"The refurbishment of that vehicle will play a major part of that decision," Giese said.

Boeing Phantom Works built two space-ready X-37B space planes at a facility in Southern California."

From: www.sott.net...

It says they are returning OTV1 from VAFB where it landed to the Phantom Works in SoCal for refurbishment to fly again.
