Often the New Agers, 2012ers, etc. bring up the idea that we're moving from the Age of Pisces into the Age of Aquarius. Only, to anyone with knowledge of astrology, this doesn't make any sense. Pisces is the most spiritually evolved sign, and to go from Pisces to Aquarius would actually be a step backwards. It would make much more sense to go from Aries (war) to Pisces (spiritual enlightenment). Perhaps I'm getting this all wrong, but because of this, the whole Age of Aquarius doesn't make much sense to me.

Yeah I have to say I agree, being a Piscean and knowing about its traits, it doesn't make much sense at all, having said that Aqaurius, can be quite crazy, and off the wall, so I'm stumped, afterall it doesn't get much crazier, than the way the world is at the moment, although that said, if this were the tip of the iceberg I wouldn't want to be on the Titanic.

Interestingly enough, someone once upon a time told me that the Earth was pisces ? and that different countries had star signs too ? I could be wrong, can anyone shed any light ?

There is some interesting information about the star signs and constellations. Something about when we move into a new age a catastrophe occurs and we begin the next age in peace etc. But whether these are just peoples far fetched theories I don't know. From what I read somewhere we are not meant to move into the age of Aquarius until around the year 2700a.d.

I`ll share what I know, but I cannot post links from my phone. I heard that, for whatever reason, maybe something to do with the procession of the equinox, we are going to skip over the age of aquarius and i guess go to whatevers after that... I don`t know a lot about it but I`ve looked into it a while back and that`s what I remember. I`ll be checking into it myself later but for now maybe that would help. Maybe if you type in the phrase "skip over Aquarius" or "skip age of aquarius" into a search, you may be able to find whatever I had read. Good luck...

It really depends on what system you follow.
Some astrologers believe that the ages progress in a NATURAL ORDER
others believe it is a retrograde GEOMETRIC ORDER,

The BIG problem is that since one age lasts for 2000 years (and a cycle is 24000 years) no one knows exactly WHICH way we are going, Its an ongoing debate in astrological circles.

Then again this too may be dependant on what system of astrology you follow.
Im not a big fan of western astrology it is FAR too vague that all people born on the same day in different parts of the world could have the same influences I prefer Vedic Astrology (Jyotish) as it explains things like the TWINS effect.

I will ask some high profile Vedic astrologer friends about these "ages" and see what they say I will report back.

We're not skipping Aquarius. Some think Aquarius begins Dec 21 2012, some think it began in 1962 during a certain lineup of planets.

I guess, not every constellation would be the same size as it is shown in an astrology chart, so they would vary in years. Maybe between 24000 - 26000 yrs is the precession of the equinox (360 degree rotation), but in between ages the years may vary due to difference in sizes of each constellation.

Apparently every 72 yrs there is a 1 degree shift. What that means i don't know.

In Indian apparently, but correct me if I'm wrong - The great year is seperated into 4 ages of 6,480 yrs. So whether 4 ages x 4 amount to roughly the same amount of years or not, I don't have a clue. It does get the mind thinking a bit though.

I think your taking it too literally. I dont think the change that some believe will take place is going to be governed by the given traits of the said constellation. They believe theres simply going to be some kind of massive change that happens to coincide with the transition in to aquarius. Be in spiritual change or whatever.

They also say it will be a feminine energy when Aquarius is a masculine sign.

If water may be likened to spirit, or the pouring out of spirit upon the earth, then it represents the age of the spirit (water)..?

No, Pisces is not the most spiritually evolved sign - Aquarius is.
Remember, Pisces is a fish - a low life form. And, Aquarius is a human - a high life form.

Here you go:

Age of Aquarius Actually Age of Capricorn, Thanks to Rotation of the Earth

"When [astrologers] say that the sun is in Pisces, it's really not in Pisces," Parke Kunkle, a board member of the Minnesota Planetarium Society, told the Star Tribune.

And if the sun isn't in Pisces, YOU'RE not in Pisces. Surprise! You're an Aquarius! New zodiac sign dates are in order, it seems.

Much of astrology -- called an ancient and complex system that uses math and science to predict the future -- relies upon careful observation of the heavens. And your astrological sign is based on the date of your birth, something that was tied very tightly to the position of the heavens back in Babylonian times.

"When someone asks you what your sign is, they're referring to your Sun Sign -- where the sun was in the Zodiac at the exact moment of your birth," explains the website of noted astrologer Kelli Fox. As the years have worn on, the position of the heavens has shifted ever so slightly -- but those signs haven't.

Yeah. In this fast developing Aquarian Age the feminine is being more and more dominant. (So, in this modern western world it's men who really need equality and liberation.) The feminine is better, with things like nurture, gentleness, intuition, and so on. But we also need the pioneering spirit, of the masculine.

The Piscean Age was a masculine energy when Pisces is a feminine sign.

Im no scientist, but i think it has to do with precession. What we consider the "north star" or the axis of Earth's spin, changes 1 degree (of 360 degrees) every 72 years, roughly. Obviously over the thousands of years, while Earth enjoys a stable orbit around the sun, there are small changes over time.

This "north star" or point in space, makes a circle through what we have come to call the astrogical signs. Right now, this point in space is moving out of picses and into aries, therfore the Age of Aquarius. This precessional spin, changes which of these signs rise on a given day at a giving point (lets say dec12, 2012 for scat and giggles).

it takes 2,125 (give or take) years for another star sign to rise at the same point, same time. ancients called these ages.

im no expert, but this is my understanding of this change.

edt to add that i dont think that we can actually put a date to the time this change occurs, because it takes 3 generations for a small part of the sky to change. this transition to the aries system of stars is something on the order of a coulpe hundred years probably. I think things are simiplier than we make them out to be, but i dont think that dec12, 2012 is end of the world, or the date of this change in stars, but we WILL witness some great changes in the next decade or so.. Hold on for the ride

i mean whose to say, where do you measure a system of stars on the horizon. did they celebrate when it was centered on their marker, or when it started to touch the marker, or a third of the way in, so to speak.

while changes to our civilizations having been happening at an ever increasing speed the past 500 years, the past 100 have been super quick, and just the past 20, I mean wow. Yeah, like i said before, I believe anything goes, anything can happen, but the next 20 years will probably be pretty exciting. Eyes are being opened. stuff is going to be happening, our knowledge is increasing, access to knowledge is rapidly taking over the planet, yeah, I see a change happening,.

I have some bad news for those who think the Age of Aquarius starts in 100 years or so

The astrological age is found by seeing which zodiac constellation the sun rises in on the morning of the spring equinox - the sun won’t rise in Aquarius for another 600 years

en.wikipedia.org...

The Austrian astronomer, Professor Hermann Haupt,[33] examined the question of when the Age of Aquarius begins in an article published in 1992 by the Austrian Academy of Science: with the German title "Der Beginn des Wassermannzeitalters, eine astronomische Frage?" ("The Start of the Aquarian Age, an Astronomical Question?"). Based on the boundaries accepted by IAU in 1928, Haupt's article investigates the start of the Age of Aquarius by calculating the entry of the spring equinox point over the parallel cycle (d = - 4°) between the constellations Pisces and Aquarius and reaches, using the usual formula of precession (Gliese, 1982), the year 2595.

Check it out for your self

I've read that the Earth is Virgo. I would actually agree. Virgo is the polar sign of Pisces, anyway. (That was in a good book about the Zodiac Ages, 'Gospel of the Stars. The Mystery of the Cycle of the Ages' by Peter Lemesurier.)
Different countries (even states of countries, and cities) have star signs. That would be when the country was founded. For instance, the USA was July 4. That makes it Cancerian. E.g. a tough shell, which hides a sensitive underbelly. Need I say more. :-) (The USA also has an Aquarius moon sign. That's what the subject is on the inside.)

Not surprised. The Nu-Age movement has no idea what 'Age' we are really in and, in fact, seems to be completely confused and divided on the issue. Go figure.

All that really matters is that this is an 'Age' which will usher in spirituality in the semblance of peace and love, and we would not want to question that, would we?

Yes, Pisces are considered the old soul of the zodiac. They are said to have already incarnated thru the other 11 signs and are now in their final lesson. They also possess all the qualities of the signs of the zodiac.

Incidentally, I am Pisces.

Water is always symbolic of the spirit, and the symbol of Aquarius is that of a man pouring water from a jug. Biblical prophecy also refers to the pouring out of spirit upon the earth in the "last days". The spirit is also synonymous with the ether or what modern science is calling the zero point field, which represents the transcendant element or the fifth element of creation, from which the others eminate ie: a first/last cause. In my mind/POV the "Age of Aquarius" heralds, not an astrological alignment, but a fundamental paradigm shift and a transformation of consciousness towards Christ consciousness or Cosmic Consciousness, where we begin to recognize our true nature as eternal, timeless, spaceless, ageless. Thus, the "New Age" is an age of grace, of spirit, of reason (restored), of sanity, and the end of time and history as we know it ie: a new type of causation founded upon a cosmological connecting principal. It's like an invitation to Earth to join the whole spectrum of civilized worlds, and any approach towards that is sure to bring with it certain "birth pangs", along with an intensification of "evil", chaos, confusion, and all manner of selfishness - born of FEAR, fear of the unknown combined with a strong impulse to attachment to the status quo or the "the way things were".

Tielhard de Chardin refers to it as OmegaPoint or the cosmogenesis of the noosphere (sphere of mind or consciousness).

I say "bring it on", we need a new age of spirit and reason and increasing conscious awareness and we are all so thirsty for the living water, let us have an unending flow from which to drink freely - the spirit and the bride say COME, come drink the living water, the water of eternal life.

P.S. I am also Pisces.
