Seven-year-old boy buys fighter jet on eBay

technolog.msnbc.msn.com

Thanks to eBay, a seven-year-old London boy managed to purchase a real-life Harrier fighter jet. It was easy: All he had to do was click on a bright "buy it now" button on the auction site, send a payment of about $113,000, and he'd be ready to live out every young man's fantasy

I think it's amazing. Absolutely awesome that this kid could try to buy a fighter jet on Ebay. I sure wish I had the $100K+ to buy myself a fighter jet. If I were a millionaire, & 7 years old...I'd buy that plane too. It’s a great 70's fighter jet. What kid that dreamt of being an astronaut or fighter pilot wouldn’t want that!!

Lucky.

I wonder what that thing gets on gas. It probably costs 113,000$ to fill it up a couple times. You make a couple trips to Paris, and you're empty again. What a shame..

Looks like the father stepped in and canceled the bid. The company understood and canceled the sale.

I did look into buying an aircraft carrier at one stage. Could have picked one up in India for a few million, including planes. Maybe next time...

Yet another great thing about the internet... you can purchase decommissioned military vehicles and buildings.

I have seen all types of navy and coast guard ships as well as planes and missile silos. The silos interest me the most simply because it would make the perfect SHTF hideout IMHO.

But it would be cool to have an old nay ship
