Looks intense. Should have hit us by now if it was headed in our direction.

This looks pretty normal, wouldn't worry about it. Check the other gallerys on the Stereo site.

Your electronics would have fried by now.

Sun has been around earth for 5 and a half billion years. There have been much more stronger solar flares etc. Nothing to worry about. Heck a 10 mile wide asteroid hit earth, and life still survived. I know I will survive because I will slow down earth enough that the asteroid will miss America. Once again Canada gets a free ride..

Yes it does need one, you posted this as "breaking news" and there is news article. Hence... this is not exactly "breaking news" now is it?

When that other solar flare hit us a month or two ago, all the lights blacked out in our area and I could see some sort of blue electrical flashes in our clouds...?

If your mind was already made up about the flare you admittedly know nothing about (irony) then why bother membership by asking what they think if you're just going to refute it (with said lack of knowledge)? Are you just trolling or looking for chicken little's who agree with you?

IRM :shk:

It IS massive!

Off another site...

Like I said earlier, this looks about 50 times larger than the "biggest solar flare on record." Compare current flare to this one from 2001 (the "biggest on record")
