Been a lurker for a while, but seriously the moronically dumb replies I've seen in this thread have inspired me to create an account so that I can
tell you...
THEY ARE STARS
Let me show you.
The time, as clearly shown in the video by anyone who would bother to look, is 20:00 JST until 23:59 JST. A period of four hours. Plain to
anyone with eyes, this is a sped up time lapse video.
The time, 20:00 onwards until midnight, is night time. Thats why there are cars with HEADLIGHTS on the road in front of the camera in the top left.
The view of the volcano in the top left shot, as shown by the shape of top of the mountain, is from the Tarumizu location, to the south east.

Now lets have a look at the stars. There is a nice bunch in the video (top left shot) at 21:50 JST.
Go to a good online star map online star map, and have a look at the sky view at this time from Tarumizu, (lat 31:29N, long 130 42 E). which is
12:50 UTC, looking North West back towards the mountain.
Here, I've done it for you...

The bunch of stars is (clear to anyone familar with the sky) Perseus.
Now fast forward an hour until 23:00 JST (14:00 UTC) and a really really bright star appears in the top left.
This is Capella. Yes, a really bright star...
Fourmilab
The video clearly states the time as being at night.
The video shows stars.
I can name them.
They are familar to astronomers.
And what of the mysterious thing that rockets quickly up into the sky?
You've forgotten its a time lapse film. It doesnt move quickly at all. Check the clock, it takes MINUTES to move across the sky. Like a plane
does.
Like in any random sky time lapse video...
www.youtube.com...
And the cars on the road? Take a look at google maps. between Tarumizu and Sakurajima is a big highway running left to right. Just like in the
video.
I shouldnt have had to point this out to anyone.
Its clear to see.
This video rates NO STARS OR FLAGS.
Grow a brain.
