The U.S. Census counts every resident in the United States. It is mandated by Article I, Section 2 of the Constitution and takes place every 10 years.

The census counts residents, not demographic data.

Everything after question 1 has been added in the past 50 years.

2010.census.gov...

US Constitution, "AS BY LAW DIRECT"

Don't understand? Well, ask a 2nd grade English teacher.

Take a breathe and process.

The only question, required to be answered is the number of residents.

The rest is voluntary demographic information (gender and race) that are not required by law.

The thread is about census workers extending beyond their position and function.

Read Article I Section 2 of the United States Constitution, pay attention to the part where it states, "in such Manner as they shall by Law direct."

In such Manner as they shall by Law direct

That isn't a typo.

Exactly. Anything else is an invasion of privacy. The government is doing everything it possibly can to invade our privacy, to know things it does not need to know and to use that information to control us. I will not participate. My name is not Toby, no matter how much you beat or whip me. (for the very young here, that is a reference to Roots by Alex Haley)

repeating the same words won't help. I understand the law and the verbiage in the subsequent modifications to them.

there is no law requiring anything other than number of residents when completing the census form.

the door to door gestapo method, threatening citizens with fines, is actually illegal

The Census is exactly like any contract.

If the census person asks if you're home and points to the all caps "person" on the census mail, then say "he is not available".

If they point to that person and asks if it is you say "no" and that is all.

You are not that person. That "person" is a legal fiction. Just say "he is not available".

Say as little as possible. Do not give them anything to work with. You can enter yourself into a contract simply by acknowledging that it exists. You become party to it.

When they ask if they can speak with you, then say "I do not wish to enter into any contracts with you today"

They will go away.

They may come back and try, but after you make it clear that you will not be entering into a contract with them, then they have to go. It is harassment if they do not and you can call the police.

Try it if you don't believe me, but you must remember that they will do anything in their power to get you to admit that you are that person on the contract.

The name may be the same as yours, but how do you know it's YOU?
IT is a LEGAL FICTION.

This situation deals with contract law because it involves our Federal Government, which is a Corporation in masquerade as a de facto Government.

Actually there is a law, it was referenced earlier in this thread. You can read it, but since you hate the Constitution, and hate the United States so much. I won't bother.

It's ok, you aren't the only person to hate the United States, radical Muslims hate the United States too, perhaps you can join Al Qaeda and fight against the tyranny.

OMG...when I passed by blunt to Jesus and read this to him he literally snotted and had to move his eagle to get the box of US Flag Kleenex.

Hilarious!

Why do fox viewers go straight to name calling and accusation of dissent? This country was built by great people and stolen by folks that respond to debate as you have.

Peace

I had a lady from the census stop by while I was out on my front porch enjoying a cigar. She was here for about 4 minutes. She asked my name, if the number on my house was correct and how many lived here. That was it, we spent the other 3:15 talking about how I get my roses to look so good.

FOX viewer?

You don't know me too well on this board do you?

I detest right wingers more so than most people.

Just using an analogy that has been used against me.

basically if you aren't for the Constitution, then you must be against it, and if you are against it, then you must be a terrorist sympathizer and in league with Al Qaeda.

are you sure that you aren't smoking with Osama Bin Laden?

The corporation acting de facto as the government and conducting an enumeration and survey has nothing to do with the constitution. There has not been a census conducted within the scope of the constitution since at least 1933.

I would have made a bowl of popcorn, pulled up a comfortable chair, kicked back and watched this census worker act like an ass, all the while I would be laughing and spilling my popcorn in an overly boisterous manner to make sure they understood that they were my entertainment for the evening.

It's just my way of telling the loving government that they can go **** themselves.....oh yeah....mmmmmmm get some.

They have everything they need know about us on data base, the old carrot that it helps with geneology hunters doesn't hold sway now we have the internet.

Out of boredom I did fill the form in (UK) not intending to post it. Q where do you work A. Don't remeber, Q. who will be staying overnight on the 27th March, A. as many as possible, Q. religion A. House of the Rising Sun.

I will not be bullied into handing it over or fillling in another form.

That's the best way to be passive aggressive. They ask a stupid question give them a really stupid answer, At the end of the day you still filled out their precious little form, what can they do about it?

When your idea of oppressive governance is having to fill in a form every ten years telling them what you like for breakfast then that’s a sign you live a pretty cushy existence.

In the UK we get sent them in the post, fill them in, then send them back. Which means you have a large quantity of sensitive information, including your name, date of birth. and address travelling freely through the postal system.

As someone who has had several debit cards stolen during transit over the years, I personally feel that the census forms are a massive security risk, and therefore should not be filled in. Identitiy theft is one of those steadily increasing crime trends.
