Crown of Creation! Great album, I in fact was listening to it just yesterday, what a trip! Though they were not metal, some points in their metamorphosis they could have been considered at times acid rock though, Jorma rocks!

What if Olympus Mons is an active volcano erupting every 100 milion years or so. The interior could be heating again getting ready to release some pressure. Of course this is only my opinion on the matter with the material I have read. The volcanic process could take millions of years to manifest on Mars. Added the solar activity and you could have a double whammy for a Mars global warming scenario.

You don't have to be close-minded to see that that theory is rubbish. For a start, if an alien civilization was to completely destroy mars, why let people escape to earth? Why not destroy earth aswell? And how if they had the technology to come here, did they forget all their technology and had to re-invent the wheel, writing and basically everything again?
Its insulting to call people close-minded just because they don't believe in outlandish theories that have no basis in fact or any sort of realistic possibility.

Mars simply does not have the required mass to sustain an electromagnetic field for solar protection, meaning it is largely a solid rock like the moon and Mercury with too little molten magma around a solid iron core to create an electromagnetic field and internal tectonics, thus Mars quickly lost all of any water or atmosphere to space shortly after its heat from accretion and ancient collisions ceased. Its polar ice caps are CO2 mostly, ice that condenses out of the (thin) atmosphere as temperatures fall to 148 K, the frost point of CO2.

It's a claim made by a guy from a technology corporation, not supported directly by any of the true expert scientists beyond calling it "intriguing," announced with the blessings of defense officers, and it's on FOX News.

I'm normally not one to make doomsday predictions. But this sounds like a fake explanation to depopulate the planet and get away with it in the history books. Everything from Fox just reeks of corruption and manipulation. Machiavelli, the ends justify the means, neoconservatives. That sort of thing. *shrug*

Its a link to the NASA page talking about the Tunguska event, and there is not one mention of a "natural nuclear" explosion!

Why would Fox make such extraordinary suggestions without any solid reference material?

Yeah, Fox found one single guy saying that, and all the other scientists disagree with him.

No one know exactly what happened at Tunguska, and most likely never will, same with Mars.

If that is true, lets just hope it doesn't happen on Earth, Earth is dieing.

In ancient times, Mars had Oceans, Lakes, Rivers and Forests like our planet Earth.

So Mars had an electromagnetic field for solar protection, enough strong in order to make to develop and to grow the Life to all the levels.

Life forms.... (vegetals and animals) and intelligent life forms like you.

I'm just saying when defense officials start suggesting that massive nuclear explosions "just happen to occur naturally once in a while," with little to no support in the scientific community, I get uneasy, that's all.

Anyway I obviously wasn't making a point in order to back it up or debate it. It's a conspiracy website... I'm allowed to speculate once in a while.

It wasn't natural. Just like there are stories in the Vedic scriptures of ancient atomic wars on Earth, there were larger scale wars on Mars, a long time ago. But it wasn't 180 million years ago either imo.

I seriously doubt that natural nuclear explosion in that magnitude is possible.

But notwithstanding the natural causes of that explosion is the dating of the event.

How has Brandenburg determined that this happened 180 million years ago? He talks about gama rays of Xenon 129 still present in certain areas on Mars and as far as I know Xenon half life is only 16 million years. Which means that this natural - insert smirk - explosuon has happened much sooner:-)
