I use Avast too, also IObit Security 360 which comes with Advanced SystemCare, download that,
www.iobit.com...

And once a day click that big CARE button, it is will run though and fix and clean a lot of stuff, including Spyware.

It also has some cool tools, my favorite is "Smart RAM" this frees up your RAM memory.

Sounds like you have an XUL Cache Redirect Virus...I can show you how to remove it...Go to Tools on the top by Bookmarks, and click the Add-Ons, and you end up in the Add-Ons manager and if you see something like XUL Cache 1.1 or something like that just click the remove button, and that should do it...
