Breaking: Springs man's claim to have Obama records starts buzz

Not sure on this, so into the skunk it goes. But if true, whoa!

A Colorado Springs “birther,” retired Air Force Col. Gregory Hollister, has Internet blogs abuzz with what may be an illegal foray into an online Social Security data base and how he obtained a copy of President Barack Obama’s draft registration from 1980.

“Col. Greg Hollister, USAF (Ret.) contacted the Selective Service, falsely impersonated President Obama, improperly registered his own address as President Obama’s address, and by this false impersonation and identity theft he managed to obtain a duplicate registration acknowledgement card with President Obama’s Selective Service information on it,” a blogger posted on gratewire.com last week. “This may violate several federal criminal statutes, and apparently caused the federal record of President Obama’s address with the Selective Service to be altered to show that he lives in Colorado Springs, CO.”

Hollister said Tuesday a private investigator, Susan Daniels of Ohio, gave him what is purported to be the president’s Social Security number. He then accessed the Social Security Number Verification Service to find out to whom it was issued and to access Selective Service documents.

I saw the issue of the Conn SS# come up months ago.

I will say, I know for a fact that the number you are issued isn't necessarily from the state you were born in but the state you apply for the number in. Back in the day, you didn't have to have an SS# just to be claimed as a dependant... you could wait until you opened a bank account or got a job.

With that said, from my earlier reading regarding this issue, no one has been able to find a time in Obama's history when he lived in Conn.

If they acknowledge at ALL that this guy broke into the database, then they will have to contend with a problem of a SS number change. But hey, that's no problem.

This subject has been covered fairly extensively. Yes, his SS# starts with that particular number, it was issued when he got his first job......at an ice cream shop I believe.

It was not uncommon for the number to originate from Connecticut as well, regardless of their actual location within the US.

This man is connected to the entire Birther movement, and very hard to take seriously.

Let's be honest, if there was any truth to the birther/SS# accusations, it would have taken off by now. Seems to me this is just more partisan bickering. Drudge has this on his site, I rest my case.

Maybe you could provide some more information on this. I have never heard that its common for a ss# to originate from Connecticut.

Here is a site that shows states and the corresponding numbers for SS#'s. Check yours out. Mine is incorrect. My number would indicate that I was born in New Mexico, but I was born in Texas.....on a military base! Does this mean I can never run for president?

I cannot find a link that explains it as well as I hoped, but I'm at work and don't have much time. From what I understand, the SS#'s were issued based on return address of the mail-in form. I do not know the entire story, just tired of hearing about it.

If anyone had enough evidence to actually make a claim against his legality to be president, it would have already come out and impeachment would have started. It has gone from being a legitimate concern, to being a partisan issue. Some people just wont let it go. The BC issue flopped, now they are concentrating on the SS#.

As a conservative, my advice is to let it go. We are just wasting our time trying to find ridiculous ways to get Obama out of office.

Any duplicate will be printed in the current form used by the state, county or city in which it was issued. The original form most likely does not exist, except in digital form. Meaning that the original Selective Service application does not exist.

No matter what we do Or no matter what we say. It could be an official stating he had the original doc he stole from obama.

No matter what we say of what proof we bring forward youll be called a birther and a fool and a nut whack job.

So until some politicians stand up and say what the F.

nothing will ever be done.

Since 1973, social security numbers have been issued by our central office. The first three (3) digits of a person's social security number are determined by the ZIP Code of the mailing address shown on the application for a social security number. Prior to 1973, social security numbers were assigned by our field offices. The number merely established that his/her card was issued by one of our offices in that State.

So his SS# would have been assigned by a field office. And in this case, Connecticut. So how is it that he ended up with a CT SS# when he was born in Hawaii?
