Hi,

I know this isn't going to be something politically correct, but the truth rarely is. Have you noticed how often both genders use female attributes to humiliate/encourage/denigrate men? I've noticed women use it even more often, especially by using the ''maybe you'd like a skirt and long hair as well?'' line which is meant to anger males and force them to act. It's rather convoluted, because by doing so females acknowledge their gender as something inferior.

Yep, I'm guilty of that too..

Has anyone else noticed that?

Thanks!

It's the opposite of saying to a woman that "perhaps you will grow a beard, chest and arse hair" but it doesn't mean the male gender is inferior does it?

I've heard these types comments before too. such as men saying.."You scream like a little girl!" and in playing ball at the park. I lived beside a public park for 8 years and heard it all. I Have heard the coaches comments like this.... You run like a girl or you hit like a girl or man up out there. I agree with you..so why make such comments as these ??

Nope hadn't noticed @ all

but I think I would crack up laughing if some one try'd to use this method of ridicule as motivation on me... especially if it came from a women...

it kinda reminds me of my football coach referring to out team as a bunch of lady's when he was displeased with our performance.... "you look like a bunch ole lady's out there" and as insulting as that was supposed to be, we would just laugh it off and take our laps...

okay so its the comments make women look inferior to men is the issue @ hand... ?

I don't see that .... but understand where you could

I agree, too. I rarely hear a woman insulted by saying that she has a beard or ass hair.

I do hear men called weak, a wuss, a wimp, a girl, gay, or other traditionally effeminate traits. Interesting point.

Negative. If statements such as "you run like a girl!" were said to an actual girl, then yes it would seem to declare inferiority. But when said to a male, it is not to declare the female gender as inferior, it is to declare that the male gender should function effectively as part of the male gender, and not characteristically as the female gender. Why?

Let's not get into this really, but males due to testosterone have more muscle mass blah blah blah, women tend to be fatter due to estrogen blah blah blah. Etc etc.

There is no inferiority attack here.

When it comes to physical abilities like that, yes, women are inferior in their abilities. That's genetics and their ability to gain muscle mass and strength. But it's not meant to make women feel inferior, it's meant to point out that said male is performing under par.

Regarding any other area... No, I don't think I've heard that in years.

Thank you for the correction.....I did see one little boy about 10, actually speak up to a coach and tell him .."You can't talk to me that way..I'm going home!" He walked off the park and the coach was running after him.
Not meaning to offend you men now...I did report 2 coaches to the town council for their verbal abuse to the boys.

I see your point, but I never really looked at it that way. Women may be physically inferior to men on some levels, but on others they are not. Personally, I wouldn't even want to TRY to have a baby, you can have that one, and that's about the most important physical attribute that a man or woman could have. One that allows another human to be born.

We are simply different, that's all. While in basic training I took comments like that to mean that we weren't working hard enough to reach our full potential.

I wouldn't read too much into if I were you.

Now, go have a baby!!

Its different. Like the OP said, woman using this term against men are pushing men to action. At a young age, thinking with a different head, I was suspended from school once, and worst yet, spent a night in jail after taking that term to heart.

So depending on the situation, women may not only demean themselves with this statement, they can put someone else in harms way. In my early experience, the results were bad. These were two different girls in my life that provoked me to violence against others for reasons that turned out to be complete lies. I have learned from my mistakes, and run for the hills when I realize that I'm dating a crazy girl.

So unless you are just joking around and teasing a guy, and don't care about being politically correct, just don't make the statement.

Well I would say that's more like manipulation then declaring inferiority. I try not to let those kinds of women (bitches) get to me though (although I have very few cases where they have said such things)

Agreed, in terms of manipulation. I guess it really depends on the context of the statement. I attracted, and was attracted too, "bad girls" at a younger age. I am since far removed, but find passion boiling inside, when I hear such statements.

If a find myself in a relationship such as that now, I look for the quickest exit. Although I am recently out of a 5 year relationship, that was still equally manipulative. Just on a healthier level, if that is possible...

Well, I just laugh if anyone calls me a girly name, because its my feminine side that has allowed me to understand and get closer to women and I know I can get more tang than a gynacologist (sp) if I wanted. I just choose to stick with one girl. Maybe it`s my feminine side that makes me like that. Anyway, it`s not always a bad thing. Only when you`re in high school or around some immature guys who aren`t secure in their own masculinity. I Know I`m a man, I`ve planted my seed far and wide, and I have nothing more to prove. So I just smile because it used to make me so uncomfortable and now it`s just funny to me that it used to bother me so much. I just had to get out of that damn high school then things started to finally make sense...

And yes, by the way, that`s how you prove you`re a man. You spread your seed far and wide. It has nothing to do with the willingness to accept responsibility haha... Just kiddin. I just returned because I noticed you are from Tejas, so you probably hear that kind of talk a lot more. Correct me if I`m wrong, but the cowboy types are way over defensive of their masculinity, are they not? Just so you know, it`s not like that everywhere. At least not as bad. You seem like you would appreciate getting out and seeing the world outside the nation of Texas. Maybe you can bring back some knowledge and help them move beyond the 1800`s when it comes to social development, haha I`m just kidding. The world wouldn`t be the same without having a place like texas, where a man can feel like a man... Except when he`s being called a girl lol. Sorry no offense intended, I just have a strange sense of humor...

That reminds me of my brother-in-law saying to me "You throw like a girl"... could be because I am one!
(Or a woman, rather..)
He then proceeded to tell me that girls/women 'can't' throw or run.. tell that to Valerie Vili or Loraine Moller! (NZ sportswomen.) Someone, CS Lewis I think, said "there's a sword between the sexes".. It's true as far as I can see...
