Additional Stryker Brigade Combat Team planned

The Army said Thursday it plans to transfer 3,900 troops from Fort Polk, La., to Fort Lewis to create another Stryker Brigade Combat Team.

The soldiers of the 2nd Cavalry Regiment are expected to arrive at Fort Lewis during the next fiscal year, which starts in October, said Rep. Norm Dicks, D-Wash.

I think this is part of the army's new planned light forces and quick reaction force to be deployed anywhere in the world in 36 hours. They may be trying to enlarge the Stryker force

I like the idea of the Stryker brigade. A light armored vehicle that is deployable, too bad the Stryker isn't all that deployable or good.

I'm not sure how deployable it is, but a lot of soldiers seem to have good impressions of the Stryker for the Iraq mission.

Theyshould make some upgrades to the stryker, make it a little smaller(and lighter), and cheaper! It should cost under 1 mil. $. A hybrid engine would also help. The deflated tires are not able to carry it with aditional armor so I hope it will be solved also.

No they should make it eh opposite a little better armored and more guns on it. Do you see what happened in Iraq RPG's will rip right through the stryker so they should add some more armor cuz its stupid to loose a good vehicle to one RPG.

All future military vehicles should be protected against RPGs all around. It's just a requirement.
