(FOX) Workers at Japan Nuke Plant 'Lost the Race' to Save Reactor, Expert Says

www.foxnews.com

According to fox, one of the reactors has melted down and nuclear material is now on the concrete floor of the reactor.

Things must be getting pretty bad for FOX to come out with this news. My guess is tokyo will end up being evacuated if this stuff explodes when it reaches the groundwater. My thoughts and prayers are with all of the people affected by this disaster. I have to wonder though, if trace amounts of radiation are reaching the US now, proving that radiation from this disaster can reach the US (abiet in small amounts), then is it conceivable that a full meltdown at a reactor, especially the #3 MOX reactor, could cause the US to receive much higher amounts of radiation. This situation keeps going from bad to worse, and I fear it is only going to get much worse from here, especially if they can't get to the other reactors due to immense amounts of radiation released in a full meltdown.

Why? They feed off fear.

Anyways, God praise those "Nuclear Ninja's" for doing their best. Japan will be uninhabitable within the year.

Holy Gaia help us!
...cause you know if Fox is reporting it then this situation was likely already happening days ago!

Isn't Typhoon season coming up? Prevailing winds might be sending the radiation out to see for now, but a typhoon would send the winds south and west, and it could affect the entire island.

I'm thinking you might be correct. It will take another 6 months for them to admit it, but I will be surprised if anyplace there is left inhabitable.

To know whats going on just take what the Japanese government are saying and multiply it by 10 and you have an idea of the truth.

I like the part where it says

"The indications we have, from the reactor to radiation readings and the materials they are seeing, suggest that the core has melted through the bottom of the pressure vessel in unit two, and at least some of it is down on the floor of the drywell," Lahey told the paper.

Lahey did add there was no danger of a Chernobyl-style catastrophe.

I have a hard time buying that.

My point exactly! If it is on fox that means TPTB have known for days, and also means an explosion is likely when the waste hits the groundwater, that would spread radiation high into the atmosphere and make the plant so radiated that it would be pointless to send workers in because they would die within 5 minutes of being on site, which means ALL 5 other plants would melt down, thats 3 reactor cores, 5 spent fuel pools full of fuel, and countless gallons of irradiated water, god help the japanese people who are believing their government and not evacuating now, while they still have time. Any ATS members in Japan, leave NOW, not in 5 minutes, NOW, as your life may depend on it.

Since the three workers got exposed and the work at reactor #2 stopped, can you show me ANY evidence that these workers are actually still there?

Thanks

Why? Chernobyl was a level 7 event... this will be an 8 so it won't be anything like Chernobyl... just a lot worse. Seems two plants are at this moment at the very least in 'partial meltdown'

All I can say about this. Is that soon there will be a lot of executives gone missing. very soon.

Honor will demand their suicide. Yes this still exists in Japan.

I was planning to go to Japan next year. I don't think I ever will be able to now!! that makes me sad.

The CEO of TEPCO has been missing for many days already... Though some reports say suicide, I doubt that one has any honor in him considering the stream of lies TEPCO has been putting out

There is no need to wonder about. We are in the line of fire as a land mass and the Pacific ocean brings crap right to our shores. We already are hearing the same song and dance that the Japanese people are hearing. The volume will increase however. You can bet on it.

I found Dr. Lahey's email and asked him to provide more info supporting his comments on Fox news. I'll share any info I get (if any) in this forum.

No news agency is infallible but FOX is probably the most reliable because they are held up to the highest level of scrutiny. Lefties everywhere salivate at the chance to find error in their reports. 99% of the time the same exact stories are fed to them on the left leaning MSM teets (not tweets). Only then do they believe the story.

Over in Hawaii the news is out,
hawaiinewsdaily.com... its-groundwater/

Every building there is gonna be blasted to rubble when that lava hits the ground water table. At least then there won't be any phoney talk of cooling something they are pretending to be still intact and they will start taking extreme measures. Getting people the F out would be good for starters.

If there is Corium sitting on the floor below the reactor then things are at a whole new level. There is no evidence that it will become a Chernobyl level event but Corium reaching the floor below the reactor is what made Chernobyl such a nightmare. Most people don't realize what a big deal it is when this happens so I will use Chernobyl as an example.

It required the work of 500 000 (yes, that's half a million) people on site to shut down and clean up Chernobyl because of the limited time that could be spent in the area. Though only 46 people were officially recognized as killed, as many as 20 000 actually died from radiation associated illnesses by 2005 and the remaining half million have illness because of their exposure.

Below the concrete floor was a level flooded by a pool of water left by firefighters who tried to put out the nuclear reaction. If it hadn't been drained just before the Corium broke through, the mixture would have created an explosion 10 times greater than Hiroshima that would have spread enough contamination to make half of Europe permanently uninhabitable.

Below the reactor even further was a massive natural aqua duct that supplied a large part of the country's fresh water. If the Corium reached down that far that would have been gone too.

Despite the fact that the government took whatever they needed from the businesses that had it and to this day haven't compensated the workers, it still cost an estimated 18 Billion dollars to deal with in 1986 money.

Another tidbit about Chernobyl that is relevant here too:
Managers at the reactor were so secretive about the accident that Gorbachev actually found out about it when Sweden called him because sensors at a reactor site in that country picked up the increase in radiation from the event.

Anyone notice the lack of clarity in the picture due to the air quality. Wow.

I saw on CNN last night that the workers sleep in stairwells and office floors...
They eat crackers for breakfast and canned goods for supper.

Most of them lost family. Some haven't left the site in a week.

Makes me so sad.. angry.
