Counterfeit money at city hall!

Today my husband went to renew his health card at city hall. He parked in the underground paid parking, paid for his parking with cash and recieved a counterfeit ten dollar bill.

He only knew it was counterfeit because the next store he went to wouldnt cash it. So I called the police number from the internet who put me to a call centre, and transfered my call to the city hall. I thought it was the police.

The guy was very nice about it and told me to bring it back and they would get me a real ten dollar bill.

What I find weird is they never asked for my name or phone number or anything, just thanked me for informing them. Not to mention I thought I was reporting a crime to the police, till he told me to just drop by city hall and pick up the cash, and he would report it to the police.

Does this seem weird to anyone else, I mean really fake money at city hall, a very good fake I might add.

That's really weird, the guy on the phone seemed like he gets these calls alot, and he might even have a protocol for this. What gets me is that a random store clerk can catch it as a Counterfeit more then a person working at the city hall.

Yes that is very strange if this was in the states. The secret service handles counterfeit cases call them. Let them know what happened I am sure they will look into it. The only thing that sucks is you will be out $10 because they don't replace the counterfeit money generally.

What sucks even Worse is its going ot cost me 10 bucks in gas to go and get my ten bucks, not to mention the long drive.
