This thread is about the "crystal skulls" found around the world, that supposedly have "magical" abilities.

First, let me start off by saying I have heard about these skulls for a while now. I have seen a documentary, and pictures. I have also seen the movie "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull".

Why am I involving the movie? Because it is basically about magical crystal skulls. The movie also had other interesting things, but I am here to talk and ask you guys about the so called magical skulls.

This is the link for the movie for those who don't know much about it.
en.wikipedia.org...

These are the links that will talk about the Crystal Skulls, and that there are 13 of them, and most of them have been found.

There is actually a card that shows a picture of a Crystal Skull, and it reads at the bottom: "Unigue Magic Artifact"

I do not know a whole lot abot them, but they seem to be like something out of this world. First of all, where in the heck did people from civilazions up to 35,000 years old (which is what is believed to be the age of the skulls), have the technology to make (or cut) these artifacts, in such perfect looking way?

Another thing; The movie. In the movie there was a scene in which all the skulls were put in one place, in theyre on proper place, and hell breaks lose, as a gigantic spaceship starts flying. When I first saw this movie, all I was thinking was "Whoa, could this reallyt be bsaed on something real that we don't know about?"

There was a video about someone who touched multiple crystal skulls at once, I think, and his body temperature was starting to rise. As if there is some type of energy between them.

So I'm here to give you a little information about them, and to ask you; What do you think they are actually meant for? And do you think the movie was just a coincidence, or not?

I know there are no comments from you guys, yet, but as I stated on my other thread, I am going to be back at my house, where the internet is so slow, its pointless, for now. So, I'm sorry, but I will reply as soon as I can. Please do NOT flood me with comments, because that's only gonna mean I'm not gonna be able to reply to you all. Thank You.

Well if you didn't post this in the Introductions Forum, I woulda Starred you but I did give you a Flag.

Anyways, the 13 crystal skulls is a very interesting "phenomena", you could say, because of the mystery that surrounds it. I remember watching a documentary on this and the guy at the end said that maybe if we find all the 13 skulls before 2012, nothing bad will happen or at least the skulls being together will cause something to happen that brings positiveness back into the world.

Let's all pray this is true!

Yea, I agree. And sorry, I don't know how to post it in a "special" place, or even how to move it to a different forum. But other than that, about what you said, it could be true. Maybe if we do discover all 13 who knows?

Here is a good link to the crystal skulls.

One thing I've always wondered, what if they are real skulls of some very special beings and not carved from the crystal? 13 is kind of an exact number, in occult terms, maybe they were a coven of sorts. Its extremely interesting to me.

If the sorcerers of this planet knew what they actually did and could harness their power, I don't think that these seemingly average folks would remain the stewards of these artifacts, but they are obviously more than that.

Too bad that 'scientists' cannot accept the mystical nature of our past and learn what our earth's secret history may hold. Who knows, they may be the pandora's box or the ultimate savior of mankind. Either way, it seems the possessors of the skulls are meant for the task of protecting them. Be interesting to know what their true purpose is.

Thnx for the link, I will check it out as soon as I can. And, theres always a possibility of them being skulls from different beings, but from a biological point of view, I simply cannot see them being actual skulls, so instead I look at them as more of a "carved" skulls(s). Not to get off topic, but the Starchild Skull seems to be VERY authentic, as if it truly belonged to a biological entity.

Actually, the 13 number is something decided fairly recently (last 10 years) and was basically something associated with a seminar that costs a lot of money to attend. In other words, someone was drumming up visitors and money for themselves with this idea.

Ooops. Excuse me here.

You see, I know Steve Jackson personally. I did a little artwork for him, too, about 30 years ago when his company was new. Steve and his crew love conspiracies and with a conspiracy card game they take common cultural references and put them in the game for fun.

The artists for the cards AND the text for the cards are all done by people he hires. For instance, Phil Foglio (take a look at the links in my signature) did some work for him and for Wizards of the Coast (Magic the Gathering) and Phil just drew what he thought would be fun to go along with the text (and yes, I know Phil as well. I've been going to science fiction conventions since the 1980's and you get to know everyone after awhile. I'm not special -- trust me here.)

They didn't. The skulls are less than 200 years old.

When I first saw this movie, all I was thinking was "Whoa, could this reallyt be bsaed on something real that we don't know about?"

No, it's based on a writer going "Hey, I really need an action plot point for the climax. Oh! Hey! If I put all the skulls together then... ALIENS! Yeah! People will come to the movie to see aliens and spaceships! And we'll make millions!" (I'm serious. Some of my friends have done scripts for X-Files and Star Trek. This really is how the producers and directors and writers think -- and if you don't believe me, go attend a science fiction convention and just ask them!)

When you get excited, your heart starts racing in anticipation and your temperature does tend to rise as blood moves toward your "core" and away from your extremities. Adrenaline also makes you flush and feel warm.

Of course, they TELL you this on the video. But I bet you didn't see a thermometer or a controlled experiment, right?

(sorry. I know this is a rant. It's just... well, I *know* these guys.)

Thank You for your comment, which was also interesting, and informative. I do have one question, though. Actually, make that at least a couple. For one, how do you know they're only 200 years old, and for two, even if they are only 200 years old, was there enough technology back THEN to cut those skulls in such precise manner?

There's a number of reports on the oldest one, which shows (chemically) that the quartz came from Germany. There are (I have read) polishing tool marks on it consistent with the time period (1800's.) This is a good match with the appearance of the skull.

Oh yes. Look at some of the Italian cameos and cut glass work of the 1800's -- exquisite, delicate work and much smaller than the skull. Google for "jewelery" and things like "Hope Diamond" or "cut glass" and 1700 (or whatever date) and you will see that they had more than enough skill for this. They could have cut a very tiny one if they wished.

The ones that have showed up since the "discovery" of the first one are pretty much things that could be duplicated in a few days by you if you had a standard lapidary setup (back when I was young, I learned to cut, carve, and facet gemstones.)

I don't know if you would care to examine it, but the Skeptic's dictionary has a review of the evidence (including evidence that Hedges bought the skull for 400 pounds from a Sotheby's auction in 1924.)
www.skepdic.com...

The external evidence all points to the skulls as hoaxes. We have "digs" that are undocumented where people find an Important Artifact (but don't come staggering back with things like half a ton of potsherds and fragments of mats and other things you'd really find at a dig. They just... dig... and VOILA! One skull. Nothing else.) We have "shamans" who wander up from nowhere, pick out our Unsuspecting Psychic, hand them off the Magic Skull and then vanish. The Unsuspecting Psychic isn't a member of the shaman's culture, has no shamanic training, can't speak the language, but the shaman is just determined that this person is The True Owner and hands over a Valuable Piece to them. This is sort of like Zahi Hawass staggering out of the desert, proclaiming me the inheritor of the pharaohs and handing me the golden mask of King Tut and then staggering off and vanishing in the mists of time.

Thank again, for the comment, which was again very informative. I can see what you're saying. Its just pretty interesting to me, but then again, it could all be nothing more than a simple hoax. I do not KNOW enough information to give my full opinion on it.
