Why isn't the research credible?

What reason would they have to lie about it?

What, in the grand scheme of things, does it matter if most stars are single or not?

I really like this point and can add that not only is it the "average joe" swamped in financial debt that would not mind a catastrophe, or is at least is amused by the thought (perhaps the next version of the DSM should indicate this as a mental maladaptation akin to suicidal ideation), but also this is prevalent in those in the lowest echelon of the socioeconomic spectrum.

Poor people absolutely LOVE the idea of an end-time scenario. I have worked for much of the last 9 years as a therapist for inner city families and I hear it time and time again about end-times. Even the kids, sadly, tell me "2012 is coming and the world is going to be destroyed!" It is sad they say such things without hesitation or despair in their voice. It's what they are hearing from the parents... and I've heard this in about 75% of my cases (7 or 8 out of every 10 families I serve).

End times and false flags. I'm over it! (I think I'll twitter that quote right now...)

You are off by a factor of 10. The closest approach is 0.23352165490423AU according to NASA.

Well I guess we'll know if Nibiru exists soon enough. In the meantime, I am not going to lose sleep over it. If the legends are true, most of us are probably screwed. If not, we still have other problems to worry about, like the catastrophe in Japan.

As other members have said, we sure are living in interesting times.

It's sad to hear that so many people fall for the hoax that is 2012.

Or he's just trying to cure stupidity.

But hey, going with the notion that he's an agent is always better on a conspiracy site.

A study by ONE scientist overrules what has been called common knowledge??

How do you think EVERYTHING we know was discovered ?

One Scientist disproves "known facts" and then we learn and move forward from there?

Where exactly do you think all this "common " knowledge came from ?

Isn't it amazing how often gut feelings are wrong? The question is not who I am, but the nature of the evidence I put out for inspection.

you prove your point mightly.. however, how about leaving alone those that believe and not pointing out the many errors that you have raised in your post.. let the people that want to believe believe and those that dont.. let them go somewhere else to share their viewpoint other than this type of site ( for those that believe btw).. Nibiru may or may not happen.. either way in the long run the human race is screwed.. we pollute the planet.. we choke it with our rubbish.. we've all but exhausted every natural resource other than the ones the oil companies don't want us to use.. humans kill humans in the name of god and peace and the west forces its way of life onto those whos life we shouldn't interfere in ( mcdonalds in basra anybody?) so please stop being a nay-sayer and leave the people that want to believe alone? after all in a world slowly falling apart and bursting at the seams ( 7.2 billion and rising due to advances in medical science) any hope ( even if it's false (as you claim ) hope ) is surely a good thing because it distracts from the reality. and remember.. Darwins theory is just that, a theory.. one mans idea/thoughts on what might have happened.. we had to come from somewhere.. if we elvolved from monkeys.. how come the monkeys haven't carried on evolving? We evolved within 3 million years Whilst the reptiles have been on earth millions of years longer but still are crawling around on all fours. Why have they not evolved into intelligent beings?

There are some points in your post I wanted to go over.

1. Darwin's theory is a scientific theory. It is not a guess as you suggest. You should learn the difference between a theory as in an idle speculation used in common speech and what scientists mean by a theory.

how come the monkeys haven't carried on evolving?

2. Actually they have. The common ancestor of man and ape, we are not descended from monkeys, no longer exists which makes it a bit tricky to work out the evolutionary path.

3. Reptiles have evolved. Evolution is not a directed process. It does not lead to higher life forms. It leads to life forms that can thrive. The lizard plan is fairly good. They've thrived for hundreds of millions of years and I do hope they thrive for a long time to come.

Nibiru may or may not happen

4. Actually Nibiru is a no go. It cannot exist as described. None of the myriad claims can exist.

humans kill humans in the name of god and peace

5. Agreed. Everyone hopes that forces larger and greater than they will assist in the carnage.

7.2 billion and rising due to advances in medical science

6. Even without medical advances the increase would happen. Much has to do with the ability to feed these people. Blame the agriculturists. Much has to do with poverty where wealth is measured in the size of families.

so please stop being a nay-sayer and leave the people that want to believe alone?

This appears to be the essence of your post despite the other issues. Frankly, this is an open forum. People that want to spout nonsense such as Nibiru, a demonstrably nonexistent planet, are going to have to learn to deal with those that can show this to be a hoax.

what is your definition of intelligent beings?

dolphins swin in the ocean and there one of the most intelligent beings there are
apes, monkeys, use rocks to help them with food
whales communicate
wolves hunt in packs to make a kill easier
i can go on with this list

these are all signs of intelligence just because an animal doesn't walk on two legs doesn't mean it is not intelligent

when you talk about reptiles and why havent they evolved? cameleons can change the color of there skin that seems pretty evolved

darwins theory is a proven scientific theory, "nibiru" is not proven in the scientific community

It's a shame those videos you posted are either sundogs or a artifact caused by the lens of the camera. you know two very common things that occur?

Nothing that cannot be replicated in a lab can be said is "Scientific Fact". Which is why gravity, for instance, is still a theory. The same goes for just about anything in (or beyond) the solar system. So, anyone that says Nibiru is a scientific impossibilty is immediately spouting nonsense. Now, on topic:

I believe all of this current weather we've been experiencing, the earthquakes, tsunamis, polar ice melting, all can be explained by a rapidly approaching brown dwarf star (that could be a natural part of our "possibly" binary system). Don't worry, it's not going to hit us. Its just doing a 3600 year flyby. This is normal. A lot of solar systems are binary. No reason why this one couldn't be. Will you ever hear about this star from the media or your government? No. Why? Would you show up to work tomorrow if you thought the world was going to hell in a hand basket sometime between now and 2016? Not likely. You'd likely stockpile food and supplies, and beat your way into the nearest bunker, or at least pack up your junk and head for the hills. However, without a job to get these supplies, you'd have to steal and/or kill to get them. Chaos would ensue as supplies diminished. The cycled passing of this star also coincides near perfectly with biblical accounts of the great Flood. The ancient Egyptians, Hopis, Sumarians, and Mayans knew about this celestial destroyer. Wouldn't an approaching 2nd star warm our planet? Even one that was as dim as a brown dwarf? Wouldn't it melt the ice caps, causing sea levels to rise? Wouldn't it warm the seas, causing stronger storm weather? Wouldn't its electromagnetic field and gravity affect tectonic movement (I.E. earthquakes), or our magnetic poles (polar shift)? Wouldn't it affect the global temperatures on other planets? Why do you think the world is pushing to unite its governments so strongly; the European Union, North American Union (don't believe me? They've already printed the money. Google it), the Asian Union, African Union? So a transition into a single worldwide government will be easier, making policing the coming anarchy easier. America has been constructing FEMA camps all over the country for the very purpose of policing its citizens for when TSHTF. That's not even a secret. They were talking about FEMA camps on the news a few months back. That's why the government is fast tracking its reckless pursuit of oil. They're stockpiling for their bunkers. Also not a secret. They were showing a tour of the newly renovated bunker beneath the Green Briar Hotel on MSNBC this week! The "housing roster" for these bunkers has already been compiled. Look at all the wealthy elite who have been or are about to be retired. Their tickets have already been paid for. Everything is joined. I don't think there are many conspiracies out there that can't be connected to a Government Cover-up and Preparation of a coming "star". Everything from FEMA to Crematorium Coffins, to Oil Cover Ups, to many agencies and groups moving to Colorado, to the NWO can be tied to this. My advise? Put your money in Water. And I don't mean by buying stocks. I mean actual water. Stocks will be worthless in the aftermath. You bible thumpers out there, I hope you're ready to meet your "wrathful god". As for the rest of us, hold on tight. There are three possible outcomes.

[one] If we are on the same side as Nibiru when it orbits our sun we are in for a real biblical catastrophy; massive lightning world wide, tsunamis, global earthquakes, etc.

[two] If we are on the other side of the sun when it passes, I think we'll see some horrific weather, but I think we'll fare much better than the former.

Either way; surviving this passing star is just the beginning. The aftermath is going to be a real builder of character.

I almost forgot....

[three] Nothing happens. Global warming is a natural part of our "single" sun system, and all the tragedy and bad weather in the world is a result of blah, blah, blah. You live your life and are happy to do so. All is well. This is the option we ALL hope it will be. We all want a bright (no pun intended) future for ourselves and our children. But good fortune isn't always in the cards. Saying the Earth is fine, and it ALWAYS will be is much more naive than anyone who believes that "Nibiru" - "Planet X" - or "the Destroyer" could be real.

question for you

if you believe that this passing dwarf star will bring on the destruction you talk about then how would going underground help in the chance of a large earthquake or the shifting of plate tectonics or even a massive pole shift?

how would they expect to survive the years after the castrophes that would happen, nuclear power planets failing all over globe, nuclear missle possibly detonating on there own in silos the oil spills that would happen in the ocean due to the oil rigs

how would they plan on surviving all that? if there was a brown dwarf heading for us not even on impact but just to make its so-called 3600 year orbit around the sun our planet would be destroyed and life would eventually end on it

Wrong. The scientific method does not require laboratory experimentation; in many branches of science all that is required is that multiple observations confirm the predictions made by a theory or model to be considered as "fact."

Which is why gravity, for instance, is still a theory.

Newton's law of gravitation is what allows us to keep satellites in orbit. We do not understand fully how gravity relates to the other fundamental forces, but there is absolutely no doubt that it is a fact in every sense of the word. If you do not believe that gravity is a scientific fact, prove me wrong by stepping out of the window.

The same goes for just about anything in (or beyond) the solar system.

Speaking as a resident of the Solar System, I find this statement baffling. I routinely receive e-mails keeping me updated on space weather, dispatches from our various probes to Mars, Saturn, Mercury and several comets, and am looking forward to seeing Ceres and Vesta in great detail.

So, anyone that says Nibiru is a scientific impossibilty is immediately spouting nonsense.

Exactly the opposite is the case.

definetly an interesting time to be on this rock

Really? Every 3600 years? Can you please tell me what this "clensing" was in 1588 BC? If you like you can choose any year in the 16th century.

I'm not trying to be an ass, but people really need to comprehend this. It's 3,600 years out-bound, and 3,600 years in-bound, giving a total orbit of 7,200 years (approx.). Last major cleansing of the Earth, supposedly Noah's flood. When did it happen? Supposedly 7,000 years ago (on May 21, 2011).
