Warmonger yes. I say that because during his campaign he said that he would end the war in Afghanistan and has only intensified it. Now we have Libya, no matter who was pushing for him to go there. Most of the American people didnt want it, me for one. But they never listen to the people do they?

I guess I have a biased view of all this warmongering going on since my only brother is going to Afghanistan in three months. He's been in Germany for the past couple of years. Two weeks ago, TPTB shipped him off to a secret "trainig mission" and wouldnt even tell his wife where he was going.

I was tired of the wars long before my brother got involved though. We need to bring our troops home and seal our borders and fix our own country while it still has a chance to maybe be fixed. The US should STOP being the World Police and STOP invading other countries....Yea, it makes me feel like crashing my head against a concrete wall...

I think that the people and the Congress are wanting answers and an explanation as to his involvement in Libya and like the article suggests, he is speaking in order to provide those answers....

I think you are wrong in suggesting that he is going to get involved in Syria as well...

Obama says he is going to speak and give a more detailed answer about the US involvement in Libya.... So yeah... That is probably what he will talk about.

Hope that answers your question.

Obama knows were waiting for answers and he has to address them I'm not sure he knows the answers but it will be a feel good speech just enough to make everyone feel good and end it at that..I don't believe we will get involved in Syria we cant afford to and were spread to thin as it is he knows we cant get involved with every country that decides to pick up arms they need to take care of there own problems we should keep our noses out of it and get our own country back on track.. Obama is in my eyes is a failure as a president and so is the system...

Karnack says...

30 minutes - read off the teleprompter

Will address the poor people in Libya and their plight and how we had no choice but to act quickly - however, will leave out that he waited 3-4 weeks to make a decision.

Will use the words democracy and freedom a lot.

Will try to straddle the fence on the issue and avoid any words that could be construed as having a backbone or taking a firm stance on anything.

In the end he will say nothing that we haven’t heard already from other more reliable sources.

I will not be listening to his dribble - haven't since he took office.

I think that if we get involved in another conflict Obama can kiss a second term good bye. Of course there is always vote tampering.

Apparently, the US isn't broke enough yet.
I guess this means we'll have to read about it here.

"My fellow Americans. For quite some time we have be supporting despots in a clandestine manner, and ignoring any human rights violations, because it meant that a very few people would make a lot of money. On the other hand, we have to say publicly that we support democracy. This is a tough position to be in! So we will attack Gaddafi (because we can paint him as a loose cannon), but we won't do a damn thing about the people calling for democracy in other countries because (a) they are still making the few a lot of money, and (b) they don't have quite as much oil.

Saudi Arabia are our friends, despite any human rights violations (ahem), so if the people there suddenly start calling for more rights we'll be in a tight spot indeed! We didn't do anything to help the people in countries like Myanmar, Darfur, Congo, Zimbabwe, and many others because - let's face it - they didn't really have any oil.

Iraq? Well they invaded Kuwait who have tons of the stuff. The Taliban in Afghanistan wanted wayyy too much money to guard the oil pipelines, so they had to go. Luckily, Egypt sorted it all out before we had to get involved (damn them for being so reasonable, sane, and peaceful). Bahrain is troubling. They have oil, and the people want democracy. What to do? Syria? They're killing the people who want democracy, but honestly we don't have that strong ties to them. We think it's the best policy to blame all brown Muslims for every evil. By the way, those Tomahawks are damned expensive! $1.4M each, then we have to replace them - and you wouldn't believe how much they cost these days!!!

Still, the owners of the arms manufacturers make out like bandits! Look, have you ever noticed how I use the word "Look" at the beginning of every sentence? Look, we're just trying to hide the fact that we've been propping up dictators for decades and now find ourselves on the wrong side. We say we're pro-democracy, when the real story is that these insurrections are really crippling the bank accounts of some very influential people! The lobbyists are very worried. Please go shopping and we'll continue normality at the first opportunity."

For such an excellent speaker, we really haven't heard all that much out of him across the past couple of years.

Teleprompter, prepared speeches. He can only communicate his vacation plans.

Teleprompters are par for the course and have been for years. If you want to disavow his leadership, his decisions, even his place of birth: I say go for it, there is plenty of room for discussion. But he is not the only leader in our country or elsewhere to benefit from a teleprompter. His speeches are strong, he has a gift for language. As the strongest tool at his disposal he should be using it.

I am so sick of this right wing LIE! Good god, how many times do I have to put up this clip before you people get it? Really I am getting tired of the right wing lie factory that can't even lie convincingly.

This video was during the debates. He had campaigned on increasing troop levels in Afghanistan the entire time, how the right twisted that into that he was going to end the war in Afghanistan is beyond me.

As far as his speech, I encourage those of you on the right to actually watch it instead of letting conservative news outlets tell you what he said, as the above proves, they will lie to you whenever they get the chance.

I won't be watching it. I have no interest in what the weakest and most yellow-bellied President in American history, has to say. When he opens his mouth, septic fluids flow. I'd rather listen to Charlie Sheen rant about having lions blood, and I absolutely hate him.

If "DOH"Bama wins in 2012, you can bet he'll push the North American Union idea and rule over Canada too.

I will want to hear how we are supporting Al Qaeda in Libya but fighting them in Afghanistan.
I expect to hear him blame Bush, blame conservatives, blame planet, bloody, Nirubu for his actions.
He won't take the responsibility himself. NATO, the U.N., our fighting terrorism, will be the reason.we are there.

I'll watch, but will have a full bottle of pepto by my side to control the nausea.

Its not a 'right wing lie'. Its a common misconception that I've seen over and over and over, dating back to the campaign. Most of the time, they're actually Obama supporters...and their support was/is based on the belief that he would end the war in Afghanistan (and Iraq).

Of course, in reality his position on Afghanistan was quite the opposite, and he clearly stated his intentions of intensifying efforts in that country even during the '08 campaign. Its too bad that Obama-mania was in full swing and a lot of people weren't paying attention.
