Florida Judge Defends Imposing Sharia Law

A Florida judge is defending his controversial decision to apply Islamic law instead of state or federal statutes in determining whether an arbitration award was correct

The case in question involves former trustees of a local Tampa mosque, the Islamic Education Center of Tampa, who are suing because they claim they were unfairly removed as trustees.

Hillsborough Circuit Judge Richard Nielsen said that the two parties can seek guidance from the Koran to resolve their dispute

Before making an opinion please watch the video in the source link.

It's actually pretty interesting an can spark quite an fascinating and philosophical/legal debate.

What the judge is doing is actually not illegal, it's within law where both parties agree to use islamic law to resolve their differences in a court of law.
If you watch the video, it's actually interesting how this is legal, like a pre-nuptual agreement.

So it's fact that islamic law has entered this Florida court, but through legal means.
They apparently are following process.

What's my opinion on this?
Well.... religion does not belong in a court of law
Just as you should not mix politics with religion you should even more not mix law with politics.

But this is making the news now, this means that more people now know of a loophole to bring religion as law into a court.
