looks like the state is once again throwing their once proud war heroes under the bus. This alone should indicate to anyone in the armed services that it's not good to be a soldier. If they haven't figured out yet that we are the bad guys this will help them realize.

You people and your niggling problems. Whine, whine, whine. How is my family supposed to survive, what are we supposed to do, live in caves? Waah, waah, waah.
How the hell are we supposed to keep the privileged afloat in their luxury yachts and living in the style to which they are accustomed if all we do is complain? Now shut up and get to work!

We could take back our country if civilians had Servicemen
on our side, and do so easily.

The DOD, and particularly the pay of soldiers will continue.
This is ridiculous fear mongering.
And while you're all discussing the military, if you want members of the military on "your side" it would help if you didn't call them stupid, if you didn't refer to them as murderers, tools, pawns or anything like that which only serves to make YOU feel better than everyone else in your high and mighty judgement passing BS.
Most of us joined because we actually care about the country...Even while you're chanting "baby killers."
I'm off to boot camp in a couple of weeks. I promise not to kill any babies or murder anyone on the way to MEPS.

exactly who do you think will defend the country, a collection of local bands of poorly organized citizens or militias?

It has been done before, successfully at that. While not an ideal situation, there are enough ex-service members that are still very well trained to take upon that role and would, myself included. With the training that military members receive, the training is not something that is easy to forget. In fact, my training that I received is still prevalent and plays a major role in my daily life. To some extents, it causes problems because regular civilians do not understand that it is not so easy to forget that "training" in a corporate world. Military training and corporate world training tends to clash. But I digress.
One theory I have is that all the gun registrations that we have to do, could possibly be part of the reason. In case, something happens, the government can call upon prior service and registered gun owners to fulfill certain aspects of the nations security. I am actually all for militias, they can serve a purpose and is also a way to help keep other authoritative bodies a little more honest. So, militias are not always a bad thing. Think about it, and despite the current national situation, militias are the reason we do not have a king and answer to England.
