Protests in London this saturday, march 26?

Well the protest is bigger than expected. Some say that it is 400,000 strong, although I note that CNN stated that the protest was only in the 10's of thousands and not hundreds of thousands. Whilst they did this they showed some guys trying to smash the windows of a bank.
So the manistream media will do the usual - focus on the small minority of violent protestors and claim the protest was smaller than expected. Kind of patethic.

I just saw an article which quoted the leader of the opposition, Milliband, as saying that the protesters represent the "mainstream majority". I could not disagree with him more.

These protesters are out for their own benefit, not for the benefit of the country as a whole. The probably stand to lose 'something', be it a job, a welfare cheque or even security in their neighbourhood due to police cuts, but they always forget who is responsible for bringing us to this situation. Ah yes, the previous government should take quite a bit of the blame. Yet the leader of that party has the cheek to preach at these protests. It's incredible in my eyes.

In summary, these protests will not bring about freedom from corporate slavery, as one poster here put it. Nothing more than a pseudo political rally from one half of the left right paradigm.

Right on I went to post a thread regarding the March 26 London "protest" (I quote protest because the original video I saw that was from the English guy that called for the people to come together today did so by calling for a day of non-compliance more so than protest) but I saw this thread already posted. I had really hoped that more people would have been aware of the importance that today signified, which is disheartening to say the least (by the lack of participation thus far in this thread. BUT what is even more disheartening is seeing how things are actually beginning to play out over there...AT FIRST BUT THEN:

Take note of even more Agent Provocateurs (always the ones dressed in black with black hoodies and faces covered), but if you notice you will see that the ONLY ones taking an aggressive stance with the police, hell actually ASSAULTING the police is those that are ALWAYS seen that JUST SO happen to be all in black with faces covered! This is NOT how the people feel and what the people want!! The people need to wake up and realize that those Agent Provocateurs ARE THE VERY SAME ENEMY (or who are working for and support the same enemy) that brought the people out in protest in the first place!

That video definitely mixed up footage from todays protest and the last student protest. Where the copper gets booted by his horse was at the student protests a few months ago.

As I understand it the nature of the protest is to say that either the cuts are too deep or should not be made at all. If you speak to protestors they will talk about how the banks were bailed out with their money and now the poorest in society are being punished again. To be honest I don't know how you could disagree with this fact.
The idea isn't to play the blame game of who is responsible, nor was this a protest on behalf of one party or another.
