You prognosticators and pontificators who derided the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan under King George and heralded the gilded age to come under the supreme one, Mr. Obama.

You're bright new age and glorious return to social justice and order has fallen flat on it's over-sized and over-inflated head.

The European contingent that has sat upon the very top of that ivory tower, what have you to say? As your governments drop bombs in Libya all the while squabbling over who will own this war, where are your righteous outbursts of indignation? Where is your social truth and pure doctrin? Where is your tradition and history that the United States so obviously lacks?

Where is the "sovereign maturity" you proudly brandish to stab the younger nations for their impulsive and rash actions?

The worm has turned, and the silence is deafening.

The West is lost to it's own petty fears and inaction. You can thank your progressiveness and "enlightenment".

LOL, fine, but I like trying to get all "fancy" words.

Here's the deal - ATS's top headlines... about gays and kids, volcanoes in yellow stone, rumbling sounds in New Zealand or something...

But there is nothing on any "hot" area showing people care. Not too surprising as the U.S. Media is doing their best to keep very still and quiet on this one as well.

There are small discussion boards here and there, but NOTHING comparing to the Iraq/Afgan stuff or the Israel/Palestine stuff.

The threads are there, but the reaction is not. I look at the front page of ATS, and nothing. But we sure do want to talk about some gay kids and Jesse Ventura.

I probably should have put it into context of what I saw on here when Israel and Palestine lit up last, or during Bush's final years.

We don't even get our oil from Libya! Europe gets the largest portion. So we would helping Europe if anything.

It's one thing to be opposed to military force in Libya, it's another to spout on about oil and a direct link between Libya and the US.

Libya is a net exporter of oil. Its domestic consumption is estimated at only around 270,000 barrels a day.

Over 85 percent of its crude exports go to Europe, while around 13 percent goes east of the Suez Canal to Asia. Around 32 percent of Libyan oil goes to Italy, 14 percent to Germany, 10 percent to China and France and 5 percent to the United States.
