It should be noted here that Despicable Me is not connected in any way with Disney nor Pixar. It is a Universal Film. About the only connection, aside from perhaps being made in California is that Julie Andrews was used as one of the voice talents.

That may or may not sway this discussion, people see what they want to see, but in the end, be accurate with the facts, if you can.

Oh jeez. Of course vector was meant to be like Lord Fawkward from Shrek and male dominated. But everything they showed was not true, specifically the first part was his patch. Accents can get misread. It was not anything different than the script.

I have to admit, the picture of the butt getting stabbed by something which can only be described as phallic in that it is capable of stabbing might be a little questionable. But considering the intense subtlety of it, the fact that it doesn't actually suggest anything sexual except for people who are watching for that, strongly suggests that it was either accidental or meant to get a laugh out of adult audiences. Or, and here's a stretch, maybe they were thinking that "Hey, a butt getting stabbed is funny." Here's the conversation that the writers had after they thought that up, I'm sure:
Writer 1: Hehe, butt getting stabbed. It's butt humor and violence! Kids'll love that!
Writer 2: Hey, do you think maybe that might be a little sexual?
Writer 1: Huh... Good point... *think think* Nah. I mean, maybe, but...

As for claims that it encourages pedophilia: There are no children in that scene. At least not involved in the event.

And the scene when one minion pounces on the other -- I thought he was just attacking the glowstick minion. It was a bewildering moment of psychosis exhibited by a so-far just weird piece of mutant corn.

We here on this website are some of the absolute best about seeing things that aren't there, finding messages that no one is delivering, and getting all worked up over nothing. So when we as a unit reject something as subliminal messages, you have to admit that it must be extremely far-fetched.

Even Glenn Beck wouldn't use this as evidence that George Soros was trying to resurrect Communist Michael Jackson to rape children. That is how weak this evidence is.

I'm beginning to think some people just want to be offended. Maybe it gives them something to talk about and makes them feel important.

I've seen the movie several times. This is the lamerst excuse for a conspiracy I've even seen.

You can make everything dirty if you chop it up and look for the dirt. In reality, though, all of the scenes that were shown in your clip were perfectly and completely innocent.

I didnt see one thing that was offensive. Only a pedophile would watch that movie and take such baseless and perverted things from it.

That's the most ludicrous claim ever, I see no sexual innuendo here.

It is sincerely not my intent to offend anyone or imply anything negative about anyone. And, as always, I could be wrong. But I have watched the film, and never once did any of this even occur to me. So it seems likely (at least to me) that one really does have to go quite far out of their way to look for these things in order to even have them occur to you in the first place. Some of these (again, to me) are reaching so far that I really have to wonder why someone would even think of them. You have to already be in that mind-set, or at least be looking for it because you routinely fear finding such content in films, for it to even be an issue in my opinion.

I dont understand what the big deal is here, there is quite a few people who actually are getting mad at this thread, who cares whether or not there is a innuendo, its actually a funny thread and he does make a point, there are sexual refs in a lot of cartoons mainly disney and come on already lighten up, dont let this thread get your panties in a bunch.

For me it's not that anyone needs to "lighten up" other than the OP, it's how stupid, ridiculous and easily lead he or she is to even agree with that pointless video created by someone with too much time on their hands and trying to make something out of nothing.

Uhm, no. He's not making any good points about sexual innuendo in cartoons. He needs to be talking about actual innuendo to even be able to make a point.
