www.usatoday.com...

Breaking news on CNN now, will post summary after

He's saying being outside around the plant will cause 100 millisierverts/hour, even outside...300 something? km? that can't be right... range could grow to greater than that, but don't evac yet and that this will cause health hazards...I swear I think he said even outside the range it could grow greater than that...the translator seemed to gasp

Heres the CNN link - www.cnn.com...

This is getting bad. Sounds like they are trying to prevent panic but it sounds inevitable.

Everything I've seen makes it sound very much as if there's nobody at the plant. Especially the minister saying they had to rely on models because they couldn't measure the actual levels of radiation anymore.

It was on earlier, and they even had the minister giving his conference live -- then they cut away as he was saying the radiation levels would be harmful, and since then have barely mentioned it.

It really makes me sick how blatantly the media lies about this. They start a report about how the plant is currently on fire and has been empty and evacuated for many hours with "Efforts to restore power continued but..."

Seriously. Disgusting. Just totally gross. They're not saying everything is fine. They're admitting the plant is on fire and has been evacuated. They're just twisting it so a person who is only barely paying attention might miss that little detail.
