Haha nice link, loved it!
But with your idea it is certainly risky, I feel it could be easily manipulated.

I have already accepted something is going on with the whole UFO/ET thing. The picture painted out on the internet is quite diverse and complex even if only half of it is slightly true. I would find the language barrier to be quite challenging, but once that was solved I would be happy to learn about their culture, the universe and how to sort this mess here on Earth out. I think it would take a lot of courage for any ET to step out in the limelight as there are a lot of divergent views and misinformation around on this issue. It would be a good day to see this planet finally grow up enough to realise its true place in this universe.

Yes but if we keep on going. I am afraid we might turn like this one.

I bet you can't watch in to the end. Pretty intense, boy

I would go even further. Loose the meaning of the word democracy, it leaves a bad taste in the mouth. One system, one law. one idea. And i think that will be something like LOVE ALL. If we lived this way all along, imagine where we already would be?? I bet you and i would have played soccer on Mars by now, and after that we fly in the Bar

Actually you Are wrong if the world had lived in love and peace over the years we still might be in the 1600's because war and conflict have actually furthered our tech, without the wars we wouldn't be were we are now wars create a big influx in tech.

Scientist are born. When people think, they ask. When they ask, the desire. When the desire, they create.
When they create, the discover. When they discover, the expand. etc etc

If development was done only for human progress. Then we would have are own spaceship by now. Its all focus on money. In our world of resources, money makes sure we limit our expansion

I'd let my animals tell me.

Who knows what their motives could be.. I think if they are race bent on world domination then we'd probably be done for. But If they are truly benevolent, we could use them. They might actually know something. Yea, I'd ask them for help too, as long as they're not trying to make me a mind slave in return I'm good.

People would freak out just by the way they look anyways, well assuming they don't look like us of course.

yeh if they did show there face and we all seen that there here and they can get here. then its very easy for them to leave again. we cant follow them we wouldnt be able to harm them if they left what harm can it do if they did show up and landed. i would like to see that then maybe the people of the world would change knowing that there watching us. it would be great to know that were not the only ones here. we couldnt just ask them to sort everything out . but they could teach us how to change if we would listen. i think this is one of the main reasons they havent shown us there here. we cant live in peace as one so what makes anyone think that if aliens came we could live with them in peace ???? look at the world if we have a problem we start a war why cant they sit down and come to a soltion that we all agree on instead of starting a war and the strongest army wins this isnt fair on the people who are in the armys they dont want to be killed i hope people can understand what im getting at here

As any sociologist would tell you it would depend on how similiar to us they are, to determine if they would assimilate into our society. In otherwords if they are ugly, violent, weird, manipulative, and have hidden adgendas then no they wouldn't be welcome to the planet. The aliens would be bigger predators than us, after all they got here to us first.

Who knows if they would come here for adventure, resources, slaves, meat, breeding, the zoo experience, or to be helpful (unlikely). Getting along with our own family, friends, relatives, neighbors, other cultures/ countries, humanity at large is already an extreme challenge. Young people and the naivee are very idealistic, the older people are more realistic. The Universe is about survival of the fittiest. I think the aliens have been here, are used to being in charge and getting what they want, and people won't like it if they become everyday face time
situations. This is my impression of the facts available to the public currently.

Depends. Will they be these kinds of aliens?

1. I'd be fine with it as long as they didn't eat me....or my doggie.
2. I'd be fine if they lived next door as long as they didn't come over to borrow a cup of plasma.

Those would be my only reservations

As much as one can accept an advanced alien civilization. Maybe they are already here and we matured as an intelligent species right in the middle of another civilizations territory, and it is actually them who accepted us.

Really good point. That would turn a lot of peoples world views upside down, if true.

Astronaut testimonies, if you believe them, tend to point towards machines and stuff operating methodically in orbit and craft with dexterous arm like appendages. Sounds like an intergalactic freeway and a clean up crew or something, would not be surprised if kepler found a bill board in the oort cloud advertising anal probing.

That just seems to say somebodys already here.

I already have accepted them, but I don't trust them, which is totally acceptable considering I've not seen or heard crap from them that my conscious memory will allow me to recall. (maybe others here have the same problem, but I don't even know where to begin with all that without sounding insane.) Whether or not they show themselves to the whole of Humanity though, they've got a massive amount of explaining to do.

I'm for gradual disclosure now too. I know we like to think we're tough enough as a species to deal with Aliens landing tomorrow, etc, but I no longer think that's the case at all. No idea about timescales though.
