Smoke in *new* Area 51 Google Pic!!

I just saw this on google earth and couldn't find anything about it. Does anyone Know what this is? Kinda looks Like a big burn, But it's as big as the base itself!! Scroll the pic to the right to see what I am talking about.

I like the way you are thinking.... maybe the whole of the UK is a secret military base, or experimental site because its ALWAYS covered in clouds!! There is no way any spying sattelites will ever get any information of whats going on down here

I'd say it's a cloud as well, but that's not a bad observation considering they do illegally burn toxic waste materials at area 51.

This is what area 51 should be famous for, not aliens and back engineered saucers.

It must have been a lonely cloud, I looked all over the area for hundreds of miles on google earth and that was the only CLOUD like thing around. funny that it's where it is.

Clearly this is a new prototype craft of some kind. I was just outside and saw TONS of these above me in the skies! It's like an invasion or something happening! OMG

You can always use the "history" button to go back to an older set of imagery. The odds are these "clouds" move. ;-)

If google really does pick where they order new imagery based on where viewers look, maybe come clever programmer could write a script to move Google Earth around the entire Nellis complex to that the TPECR, NTS, and Tonopah Test Range get new imagery. Kind of like the Rick Santorum google hack.

If this isn't a cloud (which it probably is), it might be smoke from a burn pit. Area 51, as the story goes, is/was used as a disposal site for classified materials by filling trenches with them, dousing the area in jet fuel and lighting it on fire. If you dig around a bit, you'll probably be able to find some info on a steelworker who was poisoned by this smoke and eventually died as a result.
