good post AmatuerSkyWatcher I think we are more vulnerable than some people believe
we need to be more aware of the likes of these possible floods. I witnessed the floods of cumbria last year and it wasnt nice . some people think it wont happen here.

its not a case of if!, its a case of when it does. especially now the risk of Nuclear Sites included
found this link which rounds it up i think
en.wikipedia.org...

The researchers calculate that the surest way to cause a landslide is to wait for at least another 10,000 years

even though I would likely say " im grateful for the information" the data you have brought to the post in from 2006 ?. this is now very out of date even for todays news. come on 5 years ago they would not have even said the Japan Tsunami was possible.
even if you compared the volcanic data from 5 years ago you wouldnt predict what has been happening recently

please produce new news and not old statistical information..
thanks anyway

Looks like what I was saying is coming close to possible. I suggested that quakes would start happening West Coast of Africa and they have happened. I mentioned Portugal and today 2 happened earthquake.usgs.gov...
It looks like the whole of the worlds plates are shifting and I dont think the big one has really happened yet I think its still due. And due quite soon by the patterns recently. I think we need to keep a closer eye on West Africa plates and the West of Europe. www.emsc-csem.org...

Also I mentioned the ALEUTIAN ISLANDS, ALASKA. I still say that this place is also to be watched carefully. I know I might sound like a MAD MAN and yes people will say ' they happen all the time there ?' but I have these strong feelings and feel that I need to post it here.... earthquake.usgs.gov...
