Have you adopted your Japanese family yet? Response to racist ATS members.

Since the much-needed closing of the adopt-a-Japanese-family thread, I wanted to give us a way to hear updates from all of the people who "offered" their homes to the Japanese. Surely, these kind ATS members will not let the closing of a thread stop them!

So, please, to the twenty-or-so people that gave lip-service to taking in a Japanese family (most especially the OP), let us know your progress in this effort!

Oh, and I almost forgot; your website still doesn't work OP. (I saw your pre-build and it's clear you put a lot of effort into that!)
We need a website, cause geez, I guess the mods think posting on ATS isn't how you adopt a Japanese family.

I was skeptical of all the threads to be honest....but there was one in particular where the dude signed up on 19th march....and was begging for flags to raise awareness...on a site like this haha
I am pretty sure it was all talk...even if it wasnt...there was no way for it to work considering most of the people in japan have lost their passports and need visa's lol.

I am Japanese living in canada and my family well some are here and some in Japan. I think you should re evaluate your post as it's kinda racist and insulting. Maybe this is your way of showing sympathy but there's always other ways. Thanx

Your a complete JERK to think that you can just adopt a family... what makes you think you can do that? you ready for the full responsability in doing that? I doubt it... people are HUMANS not things that can be owned.

Oh, I apologize, you misunderstood me. I'm not suggesting we need to adopt Japanese families, this was a response to a thread that was indeed racist and insulting.

I am a ABORIGINAL person from Canada.. MORTIFIED that 18,k Japanese people lives were lost, in this disaster.. and just to think... there s people who think that they can OWN people to apease thier own guilt....

:-( This whol scenario brings such hurt to my heart and soul to think that many lives were lost.

its a very sensative topic here in Canada...Japan were our allies

I can see how you people take offence, however, i think the whole "adopt a japanese family" is just a houmoristic way of putting it. People that wants to "adopt" a japaneese family is only doing it to help them out, not to own them.

Many families displaced by Hurricane Katrina were put up in other families' homes for a time. It's an incredible thing to do for people in need

It's not offensive unless you go on conspiracy theory sites and make threads about it just to get attention.

there are many way to assist or aid the Japanese people and country...donate blood through red cross, open your wallets and donate (like many of us have).. talk to your local officals to get extra advise on how to help.... I dont think its funny in the slightest, to mock or even joke about such a disaster...

there is no room for humor in this.. just do you best to help.... and show the world that HUMANITY is not ignorant to the plight of other humans.
