Although this is not a new article, it does relate to current events given the amount of current interest in these pills, ranging from fear of the unknown to rage over price gouging by some current sellers of the product. For those of you who believe that these pills will be provided by the government, no matter where you live, you may want to read this article:

"WASHINGTON — The federal government will not give anti-radiation pills to millions of people who live 10 to 20 miles from a nuclear plant because there are more effective ways to protect people in case of an accident or terrorist attack, the White House said Monday.

"The pills "offer negligible additional protection" against radiation exposure for those who live outside a 10-mile radius of a reactor, said John Marburger, President Bush's top science adviser."

"Some members of Congress and thyroid cancer activists expressed outrage. Rep. Ed Markey, D-Mass., called it "reckless endangerment of the American people." link

and:

"The Nuclear Regulatory Commission has long opposed wider distribution of potassium iodide pills, arguing that evacuation and protection from contaminated food are more effective ways to prevent cancer. The NRC also has expressed concern that pill distribution could undermine public confidence in the safety of the nation's nuclear plants."link

Yep, cancer is BIG business. Anderson Cooper was told mins ago by Tepco that the radiation has peaked, today, friday at 20rph and it will only go down from here...These have got to be the best liars in the world..Even better than the US government..How does anyone know things have peaked? They don't...

Now, after a t.v. break he is trying to change the story.....lol....

don't know if you folks know or not
but Potassium iodide is kinda
obsolete. The Gov isn't stockpiling
PI anymore cuz it has a replacement
that is better but it is only available
to military and gov officials. It's called
Ex-RAD and there is a thread on it
already here at ATS.

abovetopsecret.com...

I doubt the public will ever get a chance
to use this.

Interesting link. And as you noted Ex-RAD is for military and government official use only, and sounds
like an interesting product. But getting back to the topic of this thread, it looks like Potassium Iodide
will be available to the general public, but not all encompassing as some persons have posted here on ATS, and that's its distribution will be limited to persons who are ten miles or less from the site of any nuclear accident here in the U.S., at least by government officials.

Given this knowledge, if persons are concerned about same, and/or live beyond the radius given, I don't see any harm in purchasing IOSAT from commercial sources (at reasonable prices and when the supply becomes more available) as an additional tool in their emergency planning scenarios.

yet a year later,

US MILITARY has been exposed stock-piling (hoarding) anti-radiation drugs,

and so the plan was scrapped as they (NWO zionist elites?) want humans worldwide, including Americans

TO GET SICK, MUTATE, METASTASIZE, AND DIE OFF!

ATSers is your hair falling out yet? your thyroid poisoned??

This thread must be antique - PRESIDENT BUSH has been ex-president for almost four years now!

Although, maybe he does't know it yet!

but 12 mos hardly antique, time flies

apparently USA has 24 of its own "Fukushima" disasters on the mainland,

adding to the radiation from even away closer to -at- home...

i've always said this world would eventually be a nuclear wasteland. I just can't believe it's actually happening.
