The way things are going in Japan they might have to shut down all nuclear reactors. But how can they do that because they don't have any other way
of producing power.
Anyone got any ideas ?
I have one.
The reactors they currently use are similar to the reactors used on nuclear submarines. They might be used on other ships but as I used to work on
Polaris subs I know whats in them.
Now what if Japan had a fleet of ships, don't have to be submarines, say large surface ships, and onto these install reactors. Park these at the end
of long jetty's. They produce power and are plugged into the grid. If there is a quake in the area they could be unplugged and taken out to sea to
ride out any sunami. If something happens and they go into melt down then take them out to deep water and scuttle them.
Just an idea. What do you think ?
What else can they do ?
