I've thought of ways I could make this thread in an unpretentious manner...... however i do not think it possible.

Have you ever passed a toothless, grinning homeless person..... and think " man he must have it all figured out".

Do you ever wonder what goes on behind the curtains of everyday reality ??

Does your reach for knowledge always exceed your grasp ??

Then perhaps we are on the same path.

However, ... have you ever truly considered the cost of such a path ?? Would you give up everything you are now..... to experience everything you are not ??

The way does not lie in the romanticism of spiritual ideals, ... I find most psychics and mystic's are more in love with the notion of being psychic, ... than actualy BEING. Do not hold onto idea's.... or naive notions, to focus on one thing alone is to miss the magnificent glory of the whole. ...empty yourself and allow the universe to pass through you as light through glass.

Do not judge, define, or hold onto any experience, or moment. Roll with it .... take it just to let it go, What more do we have in this world than now ??

Existing Multidimensionaly.

Some people are not ready to be told Santa doesnt exist.... or the world isn't real.

Some people might sell all of their possessions and go on a pilgrimage, ... others might go on a shooting rampage. It's all relative.

If you ever hope to lead somewhat of a normal life, .... the majority of your life will be spent balancing your ego with your higher self,....... pretending, basicaly. Pretending to be like everyone else, .. which is especialy hard when you do not share the same thought process.

The enlightened can view from multiple perspectives, ... from multiple timeframes. ...... at once.

For instance, ... cause and effect cease to exist, ...... when you create something, you simultaneously experience its end. or multiple ends, .... there is no one set reality.

We tend to see our future's in probabilitys, .... exploring multiple timelines, segways, odds, .... with a little practice... and alot of tweaking, we can successfully veer our future into the reality we choose. Although even this.... doesnt even matter, .... because we've experienced almost every possibility regardless.

Time becomes unhinged, .... and only becomes a vantage point. The future is experienced the same way as the past ..... in memory. For instance, ..... one could meet a stranger, ... and remember moments which havent occured yet. Or pick up on their darkest, or most embarrasing secrets.

To function in the real world, ... it is imperative to create an ego, a character, .... and abide by normal social standards. If you asked me who I was ..... I couldnt tell you, ..... because I can be all of it.

If life were a video game, enlightenment would be god mode.

And while it is nice to exist in a constant state of bliss, and awareness, ........ sometimes i think it was funner to play the other way.

It has been eleven years since the day I first woke up, ... and in all that time I've only come full circle,.... with nothing gained but understanding.

Why read a manual when you can play the game .....

so go on .... play, in your own way.

Be lost in the drama of it all, ...... love, hate, .... feel.

... and just know, you are doing exactly what your supposed to be doing

Lots of build up, but no meat. Tell us what you may have discovered. I think most of the people who visit this site are open minded and willing to examine new or novel ways of thinking and living. By the way, you do know what a Segway is, yes?

Your OP is brimming with Awareness and Deep thought. Starred and Flagged. I apologize that I dont have any more to say about the subject as it is a matter that often eludes verbal expression. Best wishes on your Journey.

All these abilities, the transcendental states etc are all really promises. It ends with one person whom has power, saying to his followers, promising to his followers, that they can attain things that they have no real way of measuring. Sure, I can tell you about a pinnacle experience, such as skydiving, and one can go and skydive, however, "enlightenment" and "multiple dimensions" are things that can only really be understood if one is already in that realm of experience. So far, its all just promises, offers about mystical things, that many people cannot really understand, or really care about. For example, being psychic, is really quite stupid, as it goes against the idea of having an empty mind, as you would have no thoughts to read in the first place. Having an empty mind also goes against the idea of learning, as knowledge is just another form of thought. There are also the "scientific" explanations, in terms of "energy" - however, what really is the point of all of it, to feel "bliss" - another "high", someday being perfect and wallowing in ones own perfection, laughing at the universe?

The only thing that can put spirituality in perspective is the idea of mortal consciousness - if there is an after life, and if the ability to be self-conscious is something that is earned and not something that is a given, then, it would put much of the teachings into perspective - the idea that we might fall below a certain level and permanantly die, being nothing more than a collection of memories...

I dont seem to see the downside of "godmode". I am often contemplating living my life as an Avatar rather than in the moment. It could make life decisions so much easier. I could tell someone something they may not want to hear or accept something i may not want to hear without the human element getting in the way or worry about how its perceived or its consequences.

I dont see how you can be in constant bliss and have full awareness and want to go back to way things were. If you truly found a way to become enlightened wouldnt you want others to join you? This goes back to the question for what purpose are we even here? You say we are doing what we are supposed to be doing? What exactly is that? Just feeling emotions in general? Is this life some sort of filtration system before joining back to the whole and living through the negative refines the positive?

I assure you once I reach a certain level of awareness i wont be yearning to go back playing the game. Id rather change the game all together.

aaahhh meat, ....

yeah.. i finished the thread in haste, .. took it another direction.

Is it a secret you want. ?? a deep profound teaching ?? ...

Even if I had one .... would you believe it ??

People have spent their whole lives creating their reality..... how could I ever seek to change that with a saying.

The word enlightenment to me means, to live lighter, to have the weight of the world taken off. The world which we carry is an illusion, there is no need to carry it. We believe we are a brain with all memories, ideas, concepts and emotions, (this is the mind made 'world') and then drag it around. No wonder life feels so heavy.

From what I understand, there has to be at least two separate individuals for a reality to exist. That is, we have to constantly add confusion and complexity to reality if we want to have anything interesting to experience.

Downside of godmode ?? ..... what's the point of playing a game if you know you cannot lose. I suppose things simply felt more.... real before.

Would I want others to join me ?? No .... the world would be a much less interesting place. And if we all came here to realize the illusion together, .... then the illusion really serves no purpose.

What is our purpose ?? ..... the purpose of live is for living..... silly goose.

What are we supposed to be doing ?? There is no " supposed" ... or even a "we" ... from a singular perspective. What do you want to do ?? We all play our part, wether we know it or not.

You asked some good questions...... now answer them.

The answers do not lie in some ancient text, or internet forum, ..... but within you.

Hate to be so short, but don't have much to say except, @ OP : nope, never.
media.tumblr.com... I find this pie chart suffices for the most part most of the time.

Edit: to say, leggo the eggo / enlightenment isn't real, keeps you from true enlightenment. I heard that one time.

Yes, with loads of coffee also lol. Honestly, you cannot 'control' the world so just go with the flow while keeping yourself as "happy/ in a good mood" as possible, don't let yourself be controlled by the "oh so serious" rampant negativity, allow it to open your eyes, and steer them into unknown directions, never know what you'll learn. Though eventually you'll only unlearn it and learn it again, that never ending cycle that is life transcends upon all its many facets, bleeding through until you realize.. "Fiick! I've been wrong all along and I'm always gonnna be!"..
(non-sense i know, don't bother informing me lol.)

It makes me laugh when so many perspectives of enlightenment come together like this in one place. Boundaries just seem to melt away. And that's introspection... this thread is quite amusing for similar reasons

by the way be the way. A meat free diet is easier to digest.

I came here for some awakened dialogue and found..
..awakened dialogue ... on Coffee!

I was like, doesn't bridsong pull you out of your slumber? Coffee [/any intoxicant] is bad for the heart.

This thread reminds me of a zen monk who once said in an interview "enlightenment is a multifaceted jewel."
brimming with awareness. in deed.

this took some time to digest. but i think i understand what you are saying.
The attachment to absolutes has a tendency towards a vibration of familiarity.. and this is naturally where we seek refuge.

Its the same thing as enlightenment, but also the opposite. Suffering can dissolve in these comfort zones, its true and vitally important. The problem is often WE dissolve into these comfort zones.
...
remind yourself of that feeling eleven years ago the day you woke up... soothing?
I don't mean to burst any bubbles prematurely, they serve to nurture, milk your "god" mode for all its worth do not let me stop you!

even in ignorance wisdom serves to nurture
with all due respect!

en*light*en*ment

In awareness of thoughts.

Enlightenment is basically just a deep self-awareness. It's the ability to grasp that we're ultimately responsible for our life situation. Not what is around us, but how we choose to process this data, and accept or deny what's happening.

I've reached my own type of enlightenment from expanding my perspective. I have no need for Gods, or an afterlife... I've solved the death instinct dilemma by expanding my sense of self. I've reasoned my way into: 100 billion have come and gone before any which currently are walking. I will be no different, nor should I expect so. While I will die out, life will go on. As I relate to all life, it's as if a part of my essence will, too ... that's good enough for me.

Everything else, once we solve the problem of death .... seems to be a rather small, and very fleeting issue. So mostly, yeah, I feel my own little enlightenment

ah well you see there is a problem with saying "I feel my own little enlightenment"

Because without a specific set of founding principles in mind of awareness wisdom,
the term enlightenment becomes completely meaningless, as almost everyone can arguably fall into this category of "enlightenment".

Like I said, "comfort zones" are the same but also opposite to Enlightenment... (its funny... need I say more?? well, of course
only once Enlightened can this be fully comprehended anyway - hence my need to carry on explaining !! yes !! XD).

The World Is One Huge comfort zone. Everyone knows this deep down, as the experiences of childhood. Children are utterly sensitive in every way or more importantly in unconditional Unity. As we grow older different things can cause us to loose this internal/external complete Unity.
So Enlightenment is as a child BUT not as a child because this time wisdom is the foundation which brought Unity back. And when truly Enlightened this wisdom will forever manifest, UNCONDITIONALLY.

At the moment y/our grasp of reality is incomplete. But that's THE point of seeking Enlightenment, it will never be complete as life is a journey. Enlightenment is when we become one with this journey, surrendered to the law of causation. Grasp what you can, not what you cant.

Once Enlightened there is are no choices between what your perception perceives and what it filterers out, once enlightened you simply surrender to the law of causation knowing that resistance is futile and impossible, knowing that you really are not free in anything you choose, but completely free because you realise there is nothing you can do about this fact. So roll with it.

btw, right now, im not at One, seems there is truly a sort of curse that comes with attempting to verbalise experiences far more profound than words can describe.

just.... ugh... dissolve into reality....
