Does anyone monitoring this thread have any insight/knowlege on immediate threat in this region??

I have family and property in Vieques, PR and these two 5+ quakes are worrying me.

They worry me too, as I have close ties with people there and I really was planning on living in the Dominican Republic.

But what do you mean : 2 earthquakes?

On USGS I only see one, what is scary enough.

And then there a smaller quake on the Mid Atlantic Rift, If there is a quake big enough to trigger a tsunami, PR and SD will be hit.

My apologies.

On RSOE (For me anyway) there are two quake icons, they appear to be the same event.

In reviewing information from RSOE I'm a bit confused about whether or not these are referencing the same Quake.

The depths of the two are completely different, as are the Magnitudes.

One reported by EMSC and the other is USGS. Interesting nonetheless.

M5.1 - ESMC Reported

and

M5.4 - USGS Reported

So...

What do you think? 2 quakes or 1?

Thanks for your update.

I'm not so concerned about the actual quakes themselves.....

Just wondering whether or not people are thinking that this area is heating up.

Its been a very long time since I've seen anything close to this magnitude in this area.
