I don't find it plausible they have technology we don't know about. Just for one example from a long list, opposable thumbs are sometimes cited as one reason modern man was able to advance technologically, to be able to construct and use tools needed for technology. Obviously, this is something whales and dolphins lack. I can make a much longer list but just that one thing might kill the theory.

That's right. Dolphins don't have fine motory abilities. They don't have the dexterity to build the things we build. I think that would be important in evolutionary terms.

Maybe an octopus does, though? Maybe the OP is looking in the wrong place.

Honestly though I don't mean any disrespect to what's happening in japan. On the other hand, what's happening in japan is not the only thing happening in the world right now. It's painful to watch.

So now I feel compelled to tell you about my nightmare....I like animal calls, crows, owls, deer etc..etc...

I dreamnt that I made a silent squirell call, I kept blowing on it and blowing then all of a suden...much like a tidle wave here they came over the hill.....squirelll by the beejillions chasing the call/me....then I wake up and read this...irony at its best..

I appreciate your opinion, but I don't see how you correlate my post to my current state of mind. Ill have you know that I am a fine upstanding person who does much for his community and his country. I am a very intelligent caring person who loves his family and friends, and what i've presented in this post represents a possible reason behind the disaster that has occured in Japan. Im sorry that you are intimidated by my opinion, but in the future please try to show more respect for what someone has to say. If you didn't agree with my post thats fine but to use personal attacks is stepping over the line. I wish the best for those suffering in Japan and to our dolphin and Whale companions. We all share this earth together and we need to start repecting the natural order of this world and learn to live in harmony. thank you

I am a big believer in the fact Dolphins are very intelligent, how much? Unless we can talk we will never know but..
The areas mostly afected are fishing towns but did they do the dolphin slaughter thing?? If no then your theory has been blown out of the water so to speak.

My post was not meant to be a joke or to make light of the tragedgy that occurred in Japan, again I sympathize with the Japense people. Again I never stated that my theroy was fact, I was only making a topic on somthing that had crossed my mind. A couple of posts confirm that I am not the only one that percieved the notion of the plauasability of retaliation from whales and dophins to the Japanese people. If true I do not condone the actions of the sea mammals but understand that they needed to get their message across. This may be the shot that was heard around the world for their community and I hope that we take in consideration the possibility that Japan was just the beginning and that we need to re evaluate our actuions against mother nature. Thank you

Whales and Dolphin have been brutally slaughtered by the Japanese fishing industry and now they've had enough! Whales and dolphins have been found to hold great intelligence in scientific studies. Yes, the earthquake was caused by mother nature. However, you are implying that the whales are exacting the revenge for "mother nature".

In essence, you are saying the whales are being controlled by Mother Nature, or have been created by Mother Nature and may subcounciously do her bidding

If, whales have been created by mother nature, as mammals, we too must have been created by Mother Nature.

Why would mother nature create humans (consumers, pollution/waste) if it cared for lower members of the food chain and planned on justifying ends by its own created means

The Japanese are not/were not the only people to practice whaling. If what you are saying is correct then most Western nations also deserve a tsunami. I don't think that tens of thousands of innocent people can be blamed for the actions of the whalers, anyway, the whalers might live in Japan, might be "Japanese" however, it does not warrant a retaliation on the island of Japan. What if the whalers were random people from all over the planet - who would the target of the whale's retalliation be in that case... Think about it, carefully.

I appreciate your opinion but the truth is that Godzilla is a fictional character and no reports of any Large sea lizards attacking has ever been reported (in recent times) that I know of. The fact of the matter is that Dolphins and whales exist and are known to be highly intelligent sentient beings, we should give them the benifit of the doubt when it comes to their ability to retaliate for the atrocities that has occured to their species. Again until we can find the definite reason behind the quake/tsunami we should keep a open mind top the possibilty that whales and dolphins have harnessed the ability to strike back, be it atlantean technology or alien intervention. Thank you

I don't find this thread funny at all. To the contrary, I find it to be very mean spirited. What you're saying is practically "the Japanese deserve this disaster because they kill whales and dolphins, serves them right". Ask yourself, is that what you are implying? If your answer is "no", give it a little more thought, your subconsciousness maybe saying just that. And, no, nobody deserves this fate no matter what they did.

When I say mother nature I was presenting the notion that dolphins and whales, though not being a actual force of nature eg. Wind water earth ect. were the possible force behind the disaster. I meant that nature itself, which in my statement I was referring to whales and dolphins being animals outside the human race that live in harmony with mother nature somehow harnessed a way to take control of the natural forces of earth to seek revenge for the actions of the Japenese fishing industry that is well known for its slaughter of Whales and dolphins which are not fish but mammals that display characteristics of cognitive thoughts and emotions.

Come to think of it, I bet it was the whales and dolphins who intentionally stirred up Godzilla out of the ocean to cause this. It makes perfect sense now.
