Just out of curiosity, and I'm not sure if it's been posted yet, but what do you think of the movie!? I thought it was a pretty good and an epic battle scene the whole way through basically.. But has anybody noticed any hidden messages in it? I know that sounds silly, but they do that all the time with movies. I feel that with this movies reference to Aliens and the end of the world, what's it really trying to say?

I kinda got the feeling that this was to persuade people that we can kick aliens a**holes, and that people should join the marines....

I also got the feeling that we can get our a**'s kicked and that an alien invasion or contact may be on the horizon.....

So should I drag the family to go see it or wait for Netflix?

If Aliens were able to travel all the way here, I'm pretty damn sure they could wipe us out before we even noticed them.

I don't remember who said it, but it was something like this "if there is an outside/alien threat then making would unite..."

Looks like propaganda to me.

I so totally agree with that!!! Though I liked the VFX work on it, and the intensity of the fighting...

I would say they were totally trying to boast USA, like all those dialogs about how they own the skies and how the black dude wanted so badly to be in afgan. The super stupidity that the marines can out think the aliens invading.

and to top this all one missile to the outer body of the massive control centre would destroy it... I don't see how the aliens came to earth without a freakin shield to even protect it from one rocket...

Horrible dialogue
Recycled story line
Decent CGI effects
Good Cast, except for Michelle Rodriguez

I just saw it yesterday. My take on it was...
CRAP. Don't waste your money. Wait for it to come
out on Netflix. Hidden message...No. Feeding off the alien
frenzy that seems to be going on right now...Yes.

I forget who to credit, but isn't that a theory of the nwo plot. A fake alien invasion will unit all the people of Earth and a one world government can easily take the helm.

Its a decent action movie, real life cartoon cgi,

I would wait for netflix. To be honest it really reminded me of Independence day, in allot of ways especially the ending.

Save your money and wait for Netflix.
There was way to much movement with the camera shaking. It gave me a headache.

I thought it was awesome from an action standpoint. How they conducted themselves and the tactics they used seemed kind of uneducated as in walking down the middle of a street. Kind of a coincidence I saw it with my friend who had just gotten back from Camp Pendleton the day before. He also saw a few inconsistencies, but then again it is a movie.
edit on 15-3-2011 by America? because: (no reason given)

I didnt even get untill the end LOL

I think its only my second movie i never watched untill the end but realy 1hour and 50 min ?
and i watch alot of movies

the only thing that struck me as odd was again the water ?

the are quite alot of sci fi movies where water keeps popping up.

and then my grey cells begin to work and i'm thinking about the water thats gone missing these past months lol. but thats abit farfetched i know :p

before any of you go and waste $9.75 (what i paid, mistake) to see Battle: LA, i want to warn you.
TERRIBLE cast, i mean really, Ne-Yo? an R&B artist in a apocolyptic movie? that right there should
be enough to drive anyone away, except ne-yo fans of course. aside from the casting being terrible, the
dialogue made me literally "LOL" in the movie theatre when the most serious of conversation was being held
between characters. On to the whole alien scenario, first of all. Why the f*ck would they attack us at all when they posess intelligence we only dream of having, they can whipe us out in the blink of an eye. also, in the movie they are after our water? they could have at least used something that makes sense, like gold, obvioulsy they want gold...*SPOILER ALERT* last but not least, at the end of the movie, 7 marines single handedly destroyed a HUGE ET "control centre"..im gonna call impossible on this one, obviously one RPG won't take out a ufo thats miles and miles across.
the only credit i will give the movie is that the effects were cool, thats it. nothing else

I did enjoy it, and the cast was questionable! I lol'd so hard when the lady said she was a veterinarian!

I also don't see how we even have a chance against et's with technology like they had, and why they hell do they need our water! Can't they make it themselves!

Off to see it tonight, I'll check back in.
