I can see why people are starting to get sick of the 2012 stuff. I personaly am still keeping track of all the things that seem to be leading up to something REALLY big.

Thanks for the replies everyone, I have been on ATS everyday sometimes 3-4 times a day reading the posts as they appear. I enjoy how this community helps each other in many ways...through advice, news, alternative views, and criticism. Since I was a child I knew I wouldn't live forever, I even remember thinking I was going to die at 29, and it's alittle scary, because I will be 29 in sept. of 2012. That's why I freak out with all the predictions and facts, plus as a child knowing that I'd die in 2012, without knowing about 2012, pretty crazy.

I appreciate everyone that left a comment good or bad. I like many will always be afraid of the unknown and I'm glad that I can say I know people who have the same fears and beliefs, that we are all on borrowed time in one way or another.

You forgot 2013 - Stereologist becomes world famous for their "I told you so you stupid hoaxers! / NYE 2012 Party", streamed live across the world to all 2012 believers everywhere.

Or is it more like...

2011 - Nothing out of the ordinary happens.
2012 - Business as usual. Oh and the Olympics are on TV *Waves Flag*
2013 - The sun rises and sets. Nothing to see here.
2014 - Another pointless year.
2015 - 365 days of pure normalcy.
2016 - Official year of "normal". The year when nothing at all interesting happens and everyone just knuckles under and does what they've always done.
2017 - Cutting-edge scientific breakthroughs reveal that the universe never changes and that we really do know everything. Scientists say that things will just go on this way forever. The world over nods as their static viewpoint is reinforced, but no-one gets excited because that would be out of the ordinary.

Seriously though, to the OP: Good luck and best wishes. We'll see you back here in a few months

The way I look at it, is screw it. If the world is gonna end, nothing can be done. Live every day like it's my last, that's about all I can do. I am done with the doom and gloom, sick of biting my fingernails waiting for the next prediction to pass and nothing happen. I guess sooner or later someone will be right lmao.

2012 to me is one of the biggest scames in history. I am going to laugh with all these people selling their homes, quiting their jobs, moving to the mountains or what ever they are doing. When December 22nd 2012 comes and nothing is happening, so many people are going to look foolish. Are they going to beg the bank for their homes back, or beg for their jobs back. People who are spreading the fears surounding 2012, should be shot for fear mongering and scaming the world to make a buck. I have a 5 year old girl, and a 5 month old baby boy. It's bad when your daughter comes home from school and asks if the world is going to end in 2012. All I can tell her is no honey, it's a scam and hoax. People trying to make money because they don't know how to do anything else, and when nothing happens they should be arrested for scaming the world out of fear and money. We have a better chance of another country firing off a nuke and wiping out an american city then the worlding ending in 2012.

Sad thing is, I can see a lot of people doing a lot of stupid things as 2012 approaches. So many people believe in this now I wouldn't be surprised to see an increase in suicides, crime or abandoning homes/jobs/family just to find someplace they think is safe. Not to mention all the con artists who are making a quick buck by feeding off their fears.

RIP critical thinking.
